  1. I really need parts for my car. 1998 TSI front end bumpers and grill parts. Left pop up head light assy and left front fender. Please call or text me if anyone has these items. 708-446-1160 - cell...........my name is alex.
  2. I will check all that out Wednesday night hopefully but what exactly should I look for in those locations? Vivi thanks for your input. It happens in All the gears only when I let off the gas. My truck is stick shift, older than hell but doesn't make the vibrating or loud noise. It just slowly decelerates.
  3. Thanks to you guys car is running a lot better. Since I'm driving it more I noticed something odd today that i have been ignoring. Noise always there but starting to fix all the little things I wanted to get done. When I'm driving car and have to let off gas the transmission makes a rough and loud noise and I can feel the car vibrate all over until I push the clutch. Once the clutch pedal down car just slowly decelerates without that noise. Doesn't matter what gear I'm in. If I let off gas pedal for whatever reason and noise present the moment I push gas pedal again the noise is gone or if I put in neutral at any speed the noise goes away too. Any ideas on what's causing that noise?
  4. I am currently running the car with a 19c turbo and 3in open exhaust. where can I find the exact rebuild kit and will it include everything i need even the Turbo wheels( the fan looking wheels inside the turbo). what is a good price for the kit also and one more thing what is a common problem people have when rebuilding turbos? tricky to get some things apart or easy to damage something when and if I take it apart?. thanks in advance
  5. Yes it's sweet. You can definitely tell its coolant burning through the turbo or tb. My turbo starting to gobble to. Can I rebuild it myself? Is it hard to rebuild? Am i going to need specialty tools?
  6. Sorry guys we all know with these cars when we have a problem we want to find a solution right away. Anyway been on this site for yrs and always been helpful just sometimes it's hard to determine the problem when we actually can't see what's happening. You guys helped out and didn't even realize because the other post I found made me look at things I didn't think of looking at before. My point keep up the awesome work done on this great site.
  7. I was so frigging happy I found the problem and also I didnt have to take anything apart. Thank god.
  8. i hate to sound like a smart tail but just keep the tank 1/4 full all the time. but my quest never has that problem even when the tank gets almost empty. keep us posted on problem thanks
  9. i just did i full upper engine rebuild on the car. all new gaskets. During the rebuild I found a turbo coolant line that was caked with hard gunk in the line, i tried to clean and in the process the line cracked in my hand. It looked as if the turbo had never got any coolant from that line before the rebuild. anyway i installed new line and everything looked good. I didnt have any issues with the car. after rebuild it started right up and ran good. A little hiccup here and there but I just fixed that problem today. Timing was off and The vac adv line wasnt installed on correct port on TB. Well when the car warms up it starts smoking alot when its just running and parked. Im pretty sure its coolant burning up. the color of the smoke almost looks blue/white. Is it possible the turbo coolant is blowing by and burning up in the turbo?? how can I find out where its burning? Is the smoke something else? Any ideas where to start and look?
  10. Your post just fixed my timing issue. Thanks for the great pics.
  11. No one wanted to help but most importantly I didn't give up. The problem was the vacuum line on distributor was hooked up to wrong port on the throttle body. Accidentally stumbled over a post and saw a picture of hose locations and just decided to check mine and what do you know installed hose in wrong port. Problem solved and distributor timing set successfully at 10btdc. Thanks to all who read my post.
  12. Great post and well explained. Thanks
  13. well i hate to beg but is there anyone who can help me with this problem?
  14. good to know thanks man..... also no sparks leaking out anywhere, so thats good .. thanks again
  15. I went to go check my timing the other day and i followed the procedure correctly and i was just looking around the engine bay and i grapped the rubber boot on top of the coil blaster i have and it zapped the heck out of me. i remember this happened long time ago to but i just ignored it and was wondering is this normal? why is the voltage felt on the outside of the boot? i have a coil blaster 2 and msd ignition incase anyone was wondering and no crack or breaks in the wiring. thanks
  16. interested in the car that is running and in great condition. please email pics at conqestlover@aol.com and also text my phone pics at 708-268-0169. thanks . alex
  17. i would do the reset procedure but the thing is the car is running normal again.....i let it cool down while battery disconnected and evertyhing back to normal. good strong idle at start-up and when it warms up it stays around 800rpm mark and just idles.....so i guess the mps or isc motor got confused and like mentioned earlier threw some kind of code. i guess its time anyway to get a new engine and rebuild it and install in car when its ready, i need to get this done now before its too late.
  18. does the manual show u how to check codes?? its been a long time and i remember something with a volt meter and the connector unit in the glove compartment.
  19. I hardly drive the car, it never sees rain or snow, anyway was a nice day today and sadly i was in a hurry to get out. this was the first time i started the car and just took off. about a mile away was my destination. I did what i had to do then after abnout 30min I went to take the car back home and the car would barely idle around 300rpm, even if i hit the gas to pick the idle up it was hestitating really really bad.. i had no choice so i took it home really slow, thank god i was close, i parked and checked everything underhood and everything looked ok. i couldnt get it to idle right. i disconnected battery and then i waited for a least an hour until the car got cold, i reconnected the battery and started car again and it seemed to almost be normal. does anyone know why this happened? is this something to be worried about?
  20. trust me im a quest lover until i die, owned 3 cars but finally keeping just one and doing everything i can to get it running the best i can. even if i blew the engine i would rebuild it like the other one i had just i still need more time getting to learn upgrades, i know how to fix cars and do the simple things, but when it comes to all that upgrade stuff i suck and im sure im going to learn the hard way but thats going to be the best way. owned a quest for over ten yrs so im not going to blame the car, i already put 2 back together but stock items. what should i do first then with a big turbo like that??
  21. ok ty....ill look into that.....is there anything i can do with the car now to help it?
