  1. Everything checks out except for the spray pattern on the smaller injector. Fair instead of good. Not ideal but not a complete show stopper either. I will run them as is. While waiting on my injectors my brother offered me some 3" exhaust tubing, a nice muffeler and some bends he had laying around from projects past. A Kingly gift! Before I can dream on the exhaust I have to get the car running.
  2. Here is the spec sheet. http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/tt198/Scoobysruvenge1/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150827_193026_536_zpsq6eunasb.jpg
  3. Got my injectors back from witchhunter today. Very clean with new rubber. http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/tt198/Scoobysruvenge1/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150827_192541_114_zpsriqdowfw.jpg
  4. Gordon at Witchhunter called today. Good news... He said they were not leaking on the basic pressure test and would proceed with the cleaning and the billing. He said this basic pressure test was the first step (50% of injectors fail this first step). Hopefully everything else will be OK. So far so good.
  5. Got my clips and gastank strainer/filter today. Still waiting on Witchhuner he said there was an 8 day backlog. So maybe next week. I wait...
  6. All the cliping surfaces were in good shape on the injector and the clip snapped tightly making a good connection. I think of will be fine. I will have wait and see. Thanks for all the help and advice from eveyone.!
  7. Thanks Shelby and PC. I will check this in the morning. This would not affect both injectors? Or because one fires more than the other?
  8. Aaahh. OK thanks and I will check it and see what I get. Is there one resistor for each injector or one for both???
  9. Funny my brother pointed out what looked like diletric grease on the connector that had the light melting damage. His thought was someone had used something other than an approved substance on the connector at some point causing the slight melting of the plastic. The clip connector is made of a different material and showed no signs of heat at all. As mentioned there was very light damage to the injector and with the 2 ohm reading I shipped them to Witchhunter to be tested and cleaned Friday.
  10. According to this article found here on this site injectors should be less than 3 ohms. Is this informsion incorrect? Both of my injectors are at 2 ohms exactly ??????? http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=143840&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1
  11. The gastank is ready as soon as I get the Tank filter/strainer. Still need a sending unit gasket??? If I can't source one I will get some gasket material and make one. http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/tt198/Scoobysruvenge1/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150814_164844_458_zps7pb4chru.jpg
  12. Injectors went out to Witchhunter to be cleaned and tested. I will share the results when I get them back. $22 per injector plus $10 s and h. I also ordered my injector clips and fuel tank filter/strainer from ESM. $8 bucks for the filter and $15 for the pair of clips. $7 s and h.
  13. I have a few items on my parts list that I will need to get from ESM. Injector clips Steel exhaust gasket. Gastank strainer. I will be sending the injectors off this week and putting in a order with ESM. Thanks for you help.
  14. Thanks for the advice PC. I was looking at it the other day and wondered is there a replaceable filter cartridge or do you replace the whole filter?
  15. The black injector. http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/tt198/Scoobysruvenge1/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150810_124354_095_zpstkxbdgnx.jpg
  16. Closer inspection of the injector that has some melting of the connector appear to very minor. A test of both injectors reveals both are spot on at 2 ohms. All of the clipping surfaces for the connector on the melted are in good shape. Both injector connector clips look perfect no melting or signs of heating. I will send these off to be tested and cleaned. I think they will both be fine. If not I will proceed from there. http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/tt198/Scoobysruvenge1/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150810_124423_036_zps0jdn9rm0.jpg
  17. My plans are simple. Get the car running in stock form with exception of the 16g. The smart thing for me to to do here is get a stock injector. Like many others I have plans to upgrade the car, but time and money must factor in to the project as I go. Once the car is running first extra will be a 3" exhaust and a trip to the dyno to see what is needed to get a correct tune. I see some megasquirt threads here I have not had a chance to read. I am familiar with megasquirt a have also been skimming through the MPI threads and drooling. Sadly these things are down the road and still have some work to do to get the car running before I can have some fun. Thanks for the offer an injector. I may take you up on it. There is a parts car locally I need to go look at first. Thanks for all the help.
  18. The car came with a 16g turbo, another exhaust manifold and a exhaust to replace all of the Duff he wrung the bolts off on. I have replaced all the studs and exhaust nuts and installed the 16g, the scroll and the manifold. My question is thos... Is there and should I upgrade the cc of the injectors? I see different years and sizes on the "mini SQ" page as well as others.

  20. Removal of the injector rail and injectors revealed one in jector OK while the other is well baked. http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/tt198/Scoobysruvenge1/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150808_145940_030_zps78vp11ny.jpg
  21. As soon as I pulled the injector lips I found a problem. One of the injectors is melted where the clip clips on. http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/tt198/Scoobysruvenge1/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150808_144518_470_zpssxqa3eop.jpg
  22. The weather held but honey dos got in the way of an early start. I finally got to work this afternoon on the TB and fuel lines. http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/tt198/Scoobysruvenge1/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150808_143746_575_zpszrskyhw6.jpg
  23. Thanks for the vote of confidence and advice. I have not looked over the throttle body or the hoses yet. Weather permitting I will get a Good look at everything under the hood tomorrow. I still a have radiator to get dipped and cleaned and have the cooling system to go through. Beyond that have to put all the stuff the previous owner had removed and put in the hatch. Air beather, vaccum lines and so on. Then hopefully I can get the car running in good stock form with the exception of the 16g for starters and upgrade the car as I go.
  24. Weather permitting I will remove the fuel injectors and blow out the fuel lines. I have read about the injector clips as a common source of trouble so a replacement set of clips are on my list of parts needed. I was curious if you guys have purchased and installed one of the many rebuild kits I see on line? Or should I just have the injectors tested, cleaned and the rubber o rings replaced?
  25. With the gas tank ready, swnnding unit aquired, pump, filter and plumbing assembled... I just need the tank strainer which I can get at my local Mitsubishi dealership. The other parts I need are: The sending unit gasket. Fuel pump gasket. I have the old fuel pump rubber gasket, it's not bad at all but I would like to have a new one. I have no sending unit gasket at all. I can make one if OEM is not available. Do any of the members here know were to get these gaskets?
