My hood release cable broke and now I don't know how to open it. Any tips?

So I'm hoping someone can help me, but when I push my clutch pedal down it stays at the floor and it feels like I loose all pressure but when I pick the pedal back up with my foot it snaps back. And if I pump it for a while pressure come back. Slave cylinder?

So, one of my friends has a 6G72 out of his Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 that he offered to sell to me. Does anyone know what transmission I could use (if there even is one) to convert it to rear wheel drive?
