Someone selling an '89 intercooler on Craigslist claims they are different and flow more CFM than all others. First I've heard of it. Is it true or just plain BS?

No, I stopped the plumbing where the factory did at the motor side of the fender. I did remove the plastic diverter within the fender that was pointed up and may have been a small restriction. I'm going to revise it again, so I can use my hardpipe from the turbo to IC instead of factory hose. Not sure I have room to plumb it lower inside fender to get to the air dam.

This is what I have at the moment before I sealed, painted and reinstalled it. I ran mine like that for years, but patched it back closed with this project. Can always cut it again or go back stock. Did you do any dyno's with the hood closed before and after?

On the car running good. Will have to dyno comparing to stock can set-up. Anyone done similar with HP gains?

Unfortunately, I have several sets. Are you trying to repair them? I can donate a pair, if I get a the second pair fixed free.

Pulled my water pump yesterday and it looks and sounds (smooth and quiet) new. Gonna put the new Bosch on anyway since it's paid for. Oil pump should also be new since motor was rebuilt by TEP less than 5k miles ago. Dropped the oil pan and found nothing loose or obvious down there. Anything else on the bottom end to check for that rolling marbles sound I've had?

My first was an 86 and loved it, except the color...not into red. Seats and manual belts were better IMO. Not a red guy. Almost dropped big $ on full color change, but thought it should stay original to another owner. Got a good deal on my current black TSI SHP. Wish I knew then what I know now.

Check out other's posts on LED conversion. Just completed mine and couldn't be happier. The signals always work and eliminated the voltage needle from jumping (always bothered me).

Years ago I bought what I thought was a new secondary injector from my "friendly" Mitsu dealer. Got the wrong one (gray lettered as "C", not green lettered "M"). Anyone know what car this goes to? Works good with no leaks, but hoping to get more fuel and power from the correct secondary.
