  1. I have a '88 SHP Sunroof roller that I'd sell. The first pic is after I picked it up and pressure washed it, the others are "as found". It has no engine or trans. The shell is very straight but it's had a crappy repaint in the past. I'm in Anderson SC. http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss14/theastronaut/Random/Starquest/63D0E682-A8AE-4B9E-B617-B2EE8F135592-12223-00000C11A174615A.jpg http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss14/theastronaut/Random/Starquest/46979E98-BA7A-406A-96E3-9D4C550020EE-1995-0000020941347142.jpg http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss14/theastronaut/Random/Starquest/432BED8B-2C64-4F18-83F2-37AB57083143-1995-000002094A567679.jpg http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss14/theastronaut/Random/Starquest/4EBA0DE6-93FE-41A0-94EE-FCEAFA5BE1BE-1995-000002095105048D.jpg http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss14/theastronaut/Random/Starquest/641155EC-B047-45EF-AD78-757D0CA0DB0A-1995-00000209574CE391.jpg http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss14/theastronaut/Random/Starquest/A17D4FE5-DEC7-49F4-A824-8BF302346A8E-1995-000002095DA9BE10.jpg http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss14/theastronaut/Random/Starquest/A123131A-D96F-41B7-88C9-2CE60F692520-1995-00000209647D0756.jpg http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss14/theastronaut/Random/Starquest/C30E61A0-50E4-40B1-9B32-4343833665D5-1995-000002096BEEA7F8.jpg
  2. Didn't think one that "needs to be gone through" would bring that much! Not crazy about the paint, but looks to be pretty clean.
  3. That's mine, advertised it here- $500 for forum members.
  4. No problem with that, it's not in the way and I won't starve if it doesn't sell lol.
  5. Pics of the rust. Needs both fenders and both doors replaced. http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/t599/andersonautoglass/Random/B9BBF429-A6FB-4B31-A57A-DABE5E03F638-385-000000C50D9CF26E_zps50b1c700.jpg http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/t599/andersonautoglass/Random/94186EC8-AA2F-49A5-98E9-19AF6C3D21D6-385-000000C517F40D8F_zpsacf1f16e.jpg http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/t599/andersonautoglass/Random/663DDE1E-9FE9-4E6E-B352-8D0FE05449E9-385-000000C51F55FB2E_zps55966fd0.jpg http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/t599/andersonautoglass/Random/6348CD0C-7113-45C4-8307-89D0B0F95A5E-385-000000C5288676E2_zps0b243f0a.jpg Right side damage. http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss14/theastronaut/Random/Starquest/29CC166A-23D6-422A-A8CD-B2F8D33F2418-1404-0000010D6226CFFA.jpg
  6. Yes, I started a topic in the Restoration Center for it. http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=137373
  7. I'm going to try them first, the fuel lines and throttle body were all clean internally, the fuel that came out was still clean looking. Completely the opposite of the gas tank! I have the tank back together and ready to re-install except for a pre-pump filter. The throttle body is back on and I have about half of the vacuum lines replaced. Still need to flush the hard fuel lines and replace the flexible lines under the hood. Then tune up parts and try to start it!
  8. Anyone been able to find these for sale? Nexen list both 225/50's and 245/45's are listed as being available in their N'Ferra SU1 line. http://www.nexentireusa.com/cms_files/original/NFERA_SU1_spec_sheet1.pdf
  9. Awesome!! Love to see engine builds like this! The crank lightening was particularly interesting to me as I've been working on lightening, reshaping, and polishing the crank for my 2276cc VW build. Very nice work so far and I'll be following along for the rest! http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/767408.jpg http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/767407.jpg
  10. I would too but I already have three Starquest and five other cars... I was told that I'm not allowed to have anymore til some others are gone!
  11. http://hickory.craig...3948763742.html It's been in a garage for the last 4 years. It was driven daily when I parked it. The body is in good condition with no rust. I removed the A/C compressor years ago, and the rest of the car is stock. The car needs to be towed. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks 105000 miles. http://images.craigslist.org/00J0J_3sLNDOrscIs_600x450.jpg http://images.craigslist.org/00X0X_5yCAGWxWA47_600x450.jpg http://images.craigslist.org/00X0X_7EvkidlCFiz_600x450.jpg
  12. There is no way that those housings will have the proper low beam cut-off if they are made for H4 bulbs, they don't even have a glare shield... In a housing designed for a halogen bulb (H4) the shape of the reflector and the design of the fresnel lens work together to aim the light into a cut-off pattern on low beams. Everything about the beam pattern hinges around where the filament is located. The edge of the glowing filament creates the cut-off pattern when aimed out the reflector and lens. When you change the light source size and placement you also change how the light is aimed because the reflector/lens combo hasn't been redesigned to work with the new light source. The aim is determined by the placement and size of the filament, and the glowing filament's edge is the center point by which the aim is designed into the housing. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3b/Headlight_reflector_optics_schematic.png HID's use a completely different way to control the beam pattern. The "shielding" shown in the pic is a flap that drops out of the way to make a full high beam pattern. When it's up it creates the low beam cut-off. A solenoid controls the position of the flap. The aim/shape of the low beam cut-off is not determined by the size or placement of the light source- the edge of the flap blocks off a section of the reflector's light. http://www.aa1car.com/library/hid_projector.jpg When you understand these two diagrams it becomes obvious that it's impossible to change the size and placement of light source in a housing without changing the aim and increasing glare. HID's have a huge light source compared to the small filament in a halogen bulb. Drop in's also lose the high/low beam feature because there is only one filament and no flap/solenoid to control the light beam. Halogen bulb on top (note the small filament) vs HID bulb on bottom. The whole HID bulb glows when lit- there's no way a halogen housing can aim the light coming from such a large light source. http://hidlightreviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/hid_bulb_halogen_bulb.jpg If your light pattern isn't sharply cut off above eye-level, than you're causing unnecessary glare for oncoming drivers. Regular halogen bulbs/housings can get away with less of a sharp cut off since they're not as bright, but the intensity of HID's makes the cut off necessary to minimize glare to a reasonable level. http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/7927/08hid.jpg I'm not trying to throw a kink in your sales, but lights are a SAFETY item, not just something that's cool to upgrade and look pretty. REAL headlight upgrades keep and enhance the low beam cut off so that oncoming traffic isn't blinded, and your headlights emit a USEABLE light pattern that helps you see better... instead of scattering light everywhere, unaimed. HID's need projectors to be considered a safe, responsible lighting upgrade!
  13. Shipped and tracking number PM'd, thanks again!!
  14. Thanks, just saw the email from paypal. I'll ship it tomorrow and PM you the tracking number.
  15. Jetspd150, the other guy passed on it so it's still available.
  16. Just hit me that there were two different size flywheels... and the one I bought is 225mm instead of 240mm. Sucks to be a newb
  17. I'm 25 and it's changed a ton since I was a kid! Soooo much traffic to deal with now, I can't believe how many more cars are on the road since I started driving 10 years ago. Not really a small town anymore. Been doing a little to the 'Quest. Picked up another gallon of Muriatic acid, some BB's, and PPG DX579/520 to finish the tank. Rebuilt the throttle body using a Standard Motor Products 1529 kit and a Felpro base gasket with the silicone inlays. I picked up an injector from a guy in Greer SC to replace the broken original one. http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/t599/andersonautoglass/Starquest/412EB3AB-333E-4E28-9DE1-FB52E75FCD7B-1057-00000185944B2A1A_zps04b03ba0.jpg I lightly bead blasted inside the connectors to clean the corrosion and applied dielectric grease. http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/t599/andersonautoglass/Starquest/DEB0100C-65CC-4588-B894-7564B2DADF08-1057-000001859AA33980_zps6f1ceff7.jpg Bought the remaining roll of vacuum hose from the FLAPS. http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/t599/andersonautoglass/Starquest/02CC6A50-5AAF-4422-991D-4ECE52F67369-1057-00000185A91B8EBA_zpsee220730.jpg Bead blasted the pickup tube. http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/t599/andersonautoglass/Starquest/C90DE6FB-8699-411E-B125-DC189B95203B-1057-00000185D0F22AF9_zps5640930f.jpg Picked up a spare flywheel to have resurfaced and lightened, a clean filler neck, and a working fuel level sending unit. http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/t599/andersonautoglass/Starquest/FF766C26-11E8-42BE-8DEB-A2D452B92D8A-1057-00000185A2CD5270_zps108bb664.jpg
  18. I'm in Anderson, just bought a '89 Conquest. I've already met a couple guys in the area so there are a few of us around the upstate!
  19. I had someeone ask about it by private message, haven't heard back from them yet but if that doesnt work out I will let you know. Thanks for the interest.
  20. Mitsu logo valve cover in good shape. $75 shipped or $60 local pick up. Will be well packaged and shipped with tracking/insurance. Edit- I'm in Anderson/Belton SC. http://images.craigslist.org/3te3Nd3q95Ia5Lf5sdd6h33d7500020001d17.jpg http://images.craigslist.org/3r33K13L95L15G55t1d6hcb4d00e0ea9318f2.jpg
  21. Very interested in seeing the ITB set up! I have dual Dellorto two barrels with IR intakes on my daily driver VW bug, and my '66 Chevy C10 project will have a destroked LS2 with four two-barrels... so I like individual runner intakes!
  22. I may possibly ride up on Friday, I'd heard about the meet before joining here and always wanted to go but didn't know the dates. I'll know closer to the date if I'll be able to make it out. I'd be in my '64 VW Bug, it'll be awhile before the Quest is running again.
  23. Just pulled the throttle body to rebuild it... one of the injector prongs was broken off in the injector clip http://i1315.photobucket.com/albums/t599/andersonautoglass/Starquest/146CDAD5-4FA5-4ABE-B0A1-8392C4210CC8-1138-00000110CA5BF8C6_zpsd2869f52.jpg
