  2. lol amusing just new to the conquest and the eci plug was not around the cruise control it was under the air box the po sold me a basket case or better yet my brother paid for a basket case

I am very familiar with megasquirt I have 2 Z cars on ms1 v3 and a subaru under the knife getting a 3.3 swap with ms2 i don't need info just maps to start with if no one is running the stock manifolds its cool just take me a few extra days to be up and running. Just wanna get a head start since this is not my car.
  4. Well i hate to say it but after ALOT of trouble and cash we are going to ms2 v3 and going to run all the stock manifolds on the pos 86. If any one has some starter maps to help speed up the tuning it would be very helpful. going to run stock intake with trilogy 850cc injectors stock isc a mighty max dizzy for a crank trigger and wasted spark with a escort 4 coil. stock 12a and stock boost for now. thanks for the help if you can oh and the elevation here is only 780ft.
  5. I upgraded the 86 tsi of my brothers that i spoke to you over the phone about week before last. Have not made it run correctly yet so im giving up and going to ms2 this week. if you need any other parts let me or doctor_drift (brother) know and we can pull it out for you. its a 1/86 that we have btw.
  6. Hey i have the pigtail for $10 plus ship are you running a 88-89 harness or just upgrading the knock box on the 86? I have a 89 knock box the plug and about 3-4'' wire tail on it and a new mitsu oem knock sensor if needed. let me know man.
  7. i need a good or rebuilt one for my brothers 86 his has bad vac advance and just looks worn out and if you give it a light shake there is stuff rattling inside.

  11. well today it ran with the maf plugged up for about ten miles boost gauge was reading correctly. car was fully up to temp with fans on when i left it was running good enough to spin 1-2 well and have fun the gauge started reading 0 vac at idle and it bucked some at part throttle then was reading boost at idle and it was bucking so bad i could not give it any throttle so i stopped it would rev fine but if i loaded it up with the clutch it would fall on its face and stall almost could not get it in the driveway. what are symptoms of a bad map sensor.

  13. LOL thats the truth we have spent almost 600 in parts and this 86 still does not run right! Only when it wants to anyway. Funny thing is when it was perchased it was drove hard for 120 miles home and has not been drove since due to electrical issues. see other post by me and doctor_drift you could possibly have the answer!!!! Who has a good deal on the st's on the web? where did you buy yours?
  14. I have been wanting to use the code reading plug everyone says is in the top of the glove box but have not been able to find it. does the 86 even have one or is this another case of tail hole po. post pics please might be over looking but all i see is glove box light and dash speaker!
  15. Can i run from the intake straight to the map sensor on the firewall? just not use a valve at all if its not needed this car will never leave state or change alt enough to matter. If the ecu will freak out i may just leave it plugged up and not use it. Also i tried some lock tite 1 min epoxy and let it dry for 20 mins and it broke right off as soon as i put the hose back on lol oh well.

  17. Okay the hose barb to the map sensor has a crack in it. So im posting in the wanted section. thanks

I checked and the two lines coming out of the Altitude solenoid were swapped when blowing thru the line from the intake it blows out the bottom port and it was run to the air filter box and not the boost sensor so i swapped them around still the problem continues and i have done the tps/isc reset. tps is at .48v thanks for the pics tho very helpful

I have used the clear filters many times for viewing crap in fuel line its not a perm fix just testing and when it runs clean will replace it with a wix ftw. anyway this car sounds like its missing and popping out the exhaust at idle but i cant see why the whole ignition system is new from plugs/wires to coil and cap and rotor.it will drive okay for a few miles then starts bucking and stalls if i hit the throttle. when i first left the drive way and the car was up to temp with fans running it left the drive way sideways and rolled the tires in second and i thought it might be okay but no the longer i drive it the worse it gets what gives guys please help this poor 86! also new maf both coolant sensors all new vac lines timing set to 10 deg's new fuel filters and pump cleaned tank and lines with acid they look like fresh steel now. when we got back home it would rev only to 4000 rpm with my foot to the floor and when it reached 4000 it sounds like the fuel pump turns off and the rpm's fall untill it dies unless i lift off the pedal? wt.... i don't what to do set it on fire or go megasquirt! please please help!!!! OH and importwarrior that pre pump filter is gone!

Hello im looking for a stiffer aftermarket spring set for my quest the po cut 3 coils off the stockers and it looks jdm as hell but is to low for where i live. where can i find a good deal on a set of eibachs (preferred) but the st springs i like the rates better but they lower to much. im looking for a 1'' drop. any input?

  22. Okay still fighting with my brothers (doctor_drift) 86 quest any one know why the oem boost gauge goes to like 14 psi at idle but if i give it a rev it reads right for a few mins. is there a sensor or something that needs replaced or worse?
  23. I need a good knock box for a 86 but if a later one will work that's fine too. need asap
