Thanks demag, I will stop there

Alright, Thanks

I keep seeing a heat shield over the turbo in pictures, but my car did not come with one. Is this going to be a problem?
-
I put the car back together on friday night, and wow! I honestly did not expect it to be that fast. Anyway, I still need to track down an oil leak in the back of the engine, but it runs great! I have to up the price to 1700 with the new tires, but I am still willing to sell it.

Um, not sure. I drove it this weekend and it coughed at 3000 rpm. So, I checked the vacuum advance and it was sticking. The new one should be here tomorrow or Thursday. Unfortunately, in order to drive it I had to replace the back tires, so I have to up the price to $1700

Hey Guys, I have decided to sell my Conquest. I would guess that it would be a parts car, but I don't have anywhere to put it while I part it out myself. The engine is almost all the way assembled at the moment, and I know that it runs great. I will finish the engine work next week when I have time. Anyway, The body is pretty rusty, the interior is moldy, and the A/C is removed, but all the drive train and suspension/rims, are in good condition. The 5-speed trans is beautiful, clutch is new. Turbo sounds great, just rebuilt the throttle body. All lights work and are in good condition, same with the glass. Aftermarket stereo works well. $1500 would make me happy, but I'd be content with less. Make an offer. http://i1241.photobucket.com/albums/gg502/cjstangman/100_0190.jpg http://i1241.photobucket.com/albums/gg502/cjstangman/100_0192.jpg

Just making sure it was actually a joke and I wasn't laughing erroneously. 'You people' refers to all the people in this conversation that aren't me... =P

This might be a blonde "I don't get it", but is the Strangman a play on my actual username or can you people not read? =P JohnnyWadd mailed me something and put that as my name too, meaning my feedback thread is Strangman

Really? Reread my username

Got my power steering bracket from him. Smooth sailing.

I'm not sure which part of "Not rebuilding the engine" didn't come through =) I am not a huge fan of small engines, even with turbos. Like i said, I am going to put the engine back together and milk it for everything it has left, and then decide whether to sell the car or swap in a Ford v8. Don't get me wrong, you have been incredibly helpful. Thank you

I have no idea. I have driven it about a half mile since I bought it. I have run it more tho. It hadn't been driven since the head was replaced and all that. This guy left as many loose nuts as he apparently had. he didn't put a gasket behind the adjuster bolt cover and just folded the head gasket into the timing cover, hence both oil leaks. I think I have everything other than the exhaust leak identified.... knock on wood. The oil in it appeared to be factory stock too. Anyway, wish me luck

Thanks guys. This gives me places to start looking. I found that the heater core hose clamps weren't even tight and neither were the bolts on the small cover on the front of the engine. Will keep you posted

I took my car out for a short drive today, just because I was curious how it would accelerate. Anyway, when I got home and opened the hood, I discovered three things. 1. Oil pours down the front of the engine, I think from the little bolt on cover on the timing cover but also from between the head and the timing cover. 2. Coolant leaks near the back of the engine where the hoses go through the firewall for the heater core. 3. The exhaust manifold gasket is useless, you can see exhaust coming out of the seam all the way along it. Just looking for feedback on how you would approach these problems.

How many and which parts should I pull for spares?
