  1. Hi, I'm in the Kansas City area, what color is the interior? i'd like to find a black dash, carpet, door cards, seats(if they are in decent shape). Rear calipers and a few other bits and pieces. Let me know Lonnie (816) 868 3198. Text works good, i probably won't be back in front of the computer for a few days.
  2. I really don't know about this because i'm having the same trouble, I tied into the o ne closest to the firewall and the bov didn't make a sound. So i repaired that, then i tied into the one closest to t he front BOV still doesn't make a sound . Sotty suggested tying into a little port on the top of the manifold( it's a vac used for auto's) but i'll be buggerred if i could find a nut that screws in there with a barb on it. The closest thing i could find was a 1/4 x 1/8 fitting at the hardware store but it was still too big. I can tap a new thread in there so it would fit but i'll have to get a lot of stuff out of the way to do it.

This is turning into a bit of a headache for me, so i'll be watching your post. If you get your's figured out maybe i will too.

  3. Scotty, oh man i appreciate it, because i couldn't find it in the FAQ about that air temp sensor. But probably because i didn't know that's what it was  . I'll get the threade bung welded on asap. Now as for the BOV, i read the FAQ and tapped into the vac on the back of the throttle body closest to the firewall like it said and still not a sound from the BOV. So i took the BOV off used a scrap of vac line and air from the shop compressor and tested it and it worked just fine. So now i'm going back to the shop to see if i tied into the wrong vac line. If so i'll replace it and try the source that your on about.

Cheers as usual for all your help man. Congrats on the wedding news. Lonnie.

  4. I bought a hard pipe wiyh a TurboXS BOV off of here last week. I installed it at the weekend, but now i have a couple of newbie/ mechanically challenged questions. I assume the sensor on the stock OVCP is an O2 sensor, the hardpipe i put on doesnt have a port so i just disconnected it at the throttle body and the car seems to run fine without it. Should i try to to weld a port on there or just leave it off?

The second question i have is, the BOV doesn't make a sound (a bit dissapointing really) there is the little nipple on the end and i assume a vac line attaches here but where does it go from there?

I know these are newbie questions but any advice i can get on this would be great.

    Thanks Lonnie.

  5. Hey Mike,

I'm interested in coming to Jeff City for this. But i wont be putting my car in any show (it's not really car show material at the moment lol). It will depend on a few minor things though, I'm hoping to get my fuel pump on before then. work will be the only other thing that stands in the way.

i'm thinking that I'll probably tow the car there, i might be interested in a place to crash for the night. It just depends what time of day or night everything winds down.

get back with me Mike, and we'll make better plans for this. Lonnie. 816 868 3198

  6. Like Gibby i grew up over there, maybe it's because i've been here for a while that some of these terms don't really bother me, and to be honest in can't really remember if they did.

But using Gibby's example of 'fanny' , i can remember being extremely confused the first winter i lived here when i was told to warm my 'fanny' by the fire. WHAT i don't have one of those.

I suppose there would be a few Brits dissapointed in me now, i do use some of those terms and saying's

  7. I just got an 86 strarion, i'm trying to get a few answers to a few minor problems it has

    Rev counter isn't working

    fuel gauge isn't working

The boost gauge wasn't working but is now! don't ask me what changed with that

The previous owner told me he dropped the fuel tank and messed with what he described as 2 skinny pieces of copper that he says work the fuel gauge needle. Does that sound about rite? Also the fuel pump whines after the car has been running for a little while, what is that all about?

I figure that someone here has to have a little experience with these issues.

  8. I got my self another car finally< 86 Starion esi-r with 48k. I had to get the clutch changed out on it but other than that it runs good. It does have a few issues that need taken care of though.

    1 Rev counter isn't working

    2Fuel gauge isn't working

3 a few pretty bad door dings and scratches.(Just as well there is a bodywork guy in the family)

4 The interior is pretty sun baked, the stiching is coming apart on the seats and the dash and A-pillar are starting to really show they're age, i guess that is to be expected.

I do plan on doing a few mods to it but that's gonna have to wait a little while.

    What do you think?
