  1. Where have you guys put yours? I was assuming I would just put it in the existing bung in my downpipe, but reading the instructions they recommend it being 36" away from the turbo. I have one of the old *DM 3" exhaust systems so there is just the one O2 bung on the top. Should I weld the bung that came with the sensor lower on the DP as they suggest, or is it safe enough to just stick it in the existing Bung?
  2. I don't think you'd want to buy a pre-mounted pulley without the bracket for the HAL sensor as well. The tolerances are pretty tight, if the sensor is too close or too far away it won't work; I had to go through a bit of trial and error getting it to read on mine. I did use JB Weld as well and it works fine, so I don't think that's your issue (unless you have an extra-thick layer of it covering the outside of the magnets making it so you can't get the HAL sensor close enough).
  3. What kind of condition are you looking for? I have a set of 7's and 8's that are pretty darn nice. A little curb rash on one or two, but I think that's all that is wrong with them.
  4. Scotty is awesome. Excellent to deal with; definitely the kind of guy you want to know!
  5. I have an extra plate laying around that you can have, but it isn't SS. My father lives in Wonderlake so I am in the area occasionally if you would like me to drop it somewhere if you are interested. How close are you on the SDS install? I just finished mine up but haven't gotten it to start yet; I think my magnet/sensor alignment is off.
  6. Scotty hooked me up; thank you for the reply though
  7. Anyone have one they can part with?
  8. So, I put a new fuel pump in tonight and noticed the drain plug for the gas tank is gone. Anyone have any idea where I could come up with a replacement?
  9. Awesome, that makes perfect sense, thanks. So the one with the big rubber cover is for the CTS for the ECU? If I am reading this correctly the fans operate independently of the stock ECU? So, assuming the rad. temp sensors work, I could just let them do their own thing? Or, if the SDS unit sends a ground signal (I believe it does, don't have the diagram handy) I could use the SDS fan control wire to run the main fan and let the secondary run off of the stock temp. sensor?
  10. I don't think so, the hole isn't threaded and is on the other side of the oil filter as the knock sensor. If I read the repair manual correctly.
  11. It's been 3 years since I took apart my donor car and I purchased my car disassembled, so I have no memory of a couple of things and am hoping you guys can lend a hand. The car is an 87 TSi. My biggest question is probably pretty simple; Under the exhaust manifold behind the oil filter adapter there is a little hole in the block. This hole goes down into the crankcase. What the heck is supposed to go there? I've dug through my repair manual and looked at the online one and cannot tell at all what should be there. Which temp. sensor and harness runs the temp. gauge in the dash? Has anyone used the optional SDS Fan relay to power the stock fans? I haven't had much luck locating Any diagrams for the fan wiring (though I haven't tried really hard to get them wired yet, been working the rest of the stuff). Thanks for any input
