  1. I am now really excited for this project, speaking of which, is any one interested in a rough looking but mechanically perfect white Subaru 2 door 2.2L.
  2. i met him once, kindof a d***. his friend ryan dunn is cooler i met him a few times he used to work for a drag racing customs shop and still runs auto x in my region.
  3. So i have decided my Subaru isn't as fun as it used to be. So, If anyone is interested in something that is mechanically fine, but a little rough around the edges and is willing to trade for a Conquest (TSI preferably). The deatails are, its a White 1997 Subaru Impreza L coupe 5 speed. it hase a 2.2 liter Naturally asperated engine. in the last 6 months i have changed all the plugs all the fluids including diff and trans fluids. i replaced the water pump and the timing belt. i also have 4 new tires on the car, that are about 1 month old, along with brand new tie rods and an alignment. now the bad is that this car a little rough. the chasis has over 200,000 miles on it. at around 100,000 miles the engine was refurbished andthe original Auto tans was replaces with a 5 speed. because of the swap the check engine wont go off, but that could be fixed with a new ECU. other problems are some surface rust on the doors and a big dent on the fender. lastly the shifter springs are shot so the shifting is off. if anyone is interested i can post pics. the car also comes with 4 new tires. please respond with any offers.
  4. these are all good starting points thank you and robert, your car and the piece on Speedhunters was what really made me want one of these cars so thanks and i will post again when i get one(or if i have more questions i just cant find the answer too)
  5. ok thank you so much for your information. i think for starters i would really like to just make it reliable. from what you guys have said i think replacing the rubber stuff is first and also id like it to be MPG concious. thank you, and i have been working on DSMs for about 4+ years now so that should help. as far as suspension what do you recomend for rear srtuts?
  6. Hey all, My name is Scott and i am currently looking into buying a Conquest TSI. i have seen that these are inexpensive to buy and not overly expensive to upgrade. i would really like to make this a 350 to 375 hp daily driver. i would also like to take it to some Auto X and possibly some local drift day stuff, but autox and daily driving would be the main purposes. i have questions about the transmission i cant seem to find a whole lot of definitave info on the stock trans. what is the power range they sit in would they with a new clutch be able to withstand some light clutch kicking, and things of that nature. 2 how is the gearing on the rear end, because i would like to daily drive it and longer gears lend to better gas milage. lastly how do they handle, would some KYB gas shocks and some lowering springs still keep tight handleing characteristics? if there are other topics devoted to these things please show me links because i would love to know more before i buy. i currently own a subaru impreza 2 door 2.2L and its just really boring lol. im not a crazy driver but something to be excited to drive even if its just to work would be nice. thank you for your help and please let me know what you find and have research on.
