  1. Here's my CL link. http://chico.craigslist.org/cto/2198375198.html the spare parts alone are worth $2500.
  2. I would not waste my time trying to find a working pri. fan. if they still work they probably wont for long. I believe a 12" universal fan will fit in the stock shroud. It worked for me for years. I also just took one apart to check it out and cleaned it, put it back together and now it works. I also recommend jumping the sensors so all fans come on at low temp.
  3. all three of the Starions I have owned had a bad vac advance when I got them. They would rev up to about 3000rpm then sputter and buck. I think autozone still sell them for about $40 bucks. I wonder how many of these cars went to the crusher because no one figured it out. Also injector clips as we all know cause alot of problems. check your codes.
  4. http://chico.craigslist.org/cto/853459937.html I have been trying to sell this car locally but just getting tire kickers and trades. It is smogged and on a non-op so it has no registration problems. It runs good, body is straight, interior is a little rough. I will throw in an extra engine, rear end, suspension and half shafts. I need the room and would like to see it go to a Quest enthusiast not someone looking for cheap transpo as I do not want it to end up in the junkyard. I have already done injector clips, vac adv., temp sensor, main rad fan and speedocable. It does need shocks and a battery. $1200 obo. http://images.craigslist.org/1g9131140ZZZZZZZZZ89o893e966846cf1195.jpg
  5. I would like to sell this car to a Quest enthusiast not some dumba** who thinks it looks cool. It is well worth $750. http://chico.craigslist.org/car/623927030.html
  6. I am in Chico, CA. as far as I know the 87 engine runs. I bought it from a junk yard, the mgr told me the owner of the car drove it in and sold it because it didn't pass smog and he did not know how to work on cars. I will sell it for $500 bucks (what I paid for it) it does need the turbo rebuilt. Make me an offer I really need this stuff gone. I would consider trading all the cars and parts for a wrecked dodge diesel truck, or just the drivetrain from one.
  7. 88 Quest red w/blk 83 hood blk leather int. Tokico blues, Suspension Tech springs and sway bars. Injectors cleaned, new pigtails, vac adv, rad fan, valve job, timing chain. runs good, needs tires and strut mounts. been on non-op with DMV. 115k miles. 87 Quest wht w/ plum int. new vac adv. injector pigtails runs good needs shocks. speedo cable broke at 86k. non-op with DMV. Extras 87 engine with ecu and harness several 87-89 throttle bodies 5 spd trans lsd rear end half shafts two huge bins full of misc. 5 radiators I will take $3500 for everything.
  8. OK enough badgering, I figured out how to get a pic on here. So here it is. http://images.craigslist.org/01010201030101040620070920224a427489047461e000492e.jpg

  10. since you can't post pictures on this site I haven't put any up. I will be putting the car on craigslist soon with pics. The car was driven for two months after the turbo swap with no problems. I have an 88 with trick suspension so I prefer to drive it even though the 87 is faster. As for no DMV suprises that means no back charges or penalties, I don't know what norcal has to do with understanding that.
  11. I have an 87 Quest I bought at an auction about 3 years ago the motor is super clean looks like it was recently rebuilt but the turbo was shot. I had a good used turbo, slapped it on and she runs great. I replaced the vac adv, 02 sensor and injector pigtails. Somehow someone put RC engineering injectors in the throttle body ( I was told they didn't make them for our cars). The car is white on burgandy, the paint and body look pretty good the interior needs help. I was planning on gutting it and making a drift/ race car but I have to many projects and already have an 88 quest. The car is non oped so there should not be any dmv surprises. I'll have pics up soon. $1500.
  12. I found some other posts where people had to cut the spacer. Tokico says they've never heard of that problem. Thanks for the input of the gland nut unfortainatly it's already installed.
  13. I went to replace my struts today and found that the new Tokico replacements would only allow the gland nut to thread about half a turn before hitting the strut. I called Tokico and they told me there must still be parts in the strut housing and to check. Well nothing there, so they said maybe I have an older style strut housing so remove the spacer on the insert. Did that and now it's too short. After about an hour on the phone they gave up. So I took the spacers that came with the strut and had them machined to take off 1/8 of an inch now the nut screws down properly. Have any of you run into this? Did you just leave the nut at half a turn or am I the only guy whos struts are an 1/8 inch shorter than everyone elses?
