  1. This is true, however the transmission will implode under high revs. We run a ford AOD tranny without overdrive in our rx7 for that reason. Probably just going to run the stock transmission until it stops working. At that time i will switch to an auto of some sort and crank it up to 6 or 700hp. Should run low 10's all day maybe even high 9's
  2. Thanks for all the help guys. I just recieved my 4g64 wideblock 6 bolt and have most of the stuff here to finish the build. Gonna leave it stock just to get the bugs worked out. Then its time to pull the engine and build it and tune it for around 500hp. Probably gonna use a twin disk so does anyone know if there will be any tranny issues? I was told it should easily handle 500hp as long as there isnt any wheel hop issues. If there are then game over transmission.
  3. I have an 87 starion that i'm looking to swap a wideblock 2.0l or 2.4l into my starion. Would anyone know where I could find a write up on how its done and whether or not i can use a 1g dsm computer to run everything and use dsm link for tuning. I work at a dsm performance shop so the more dsm components i can use the better. have the components available to make high hp just need a wideblock and the info on what all needs to be done. Thanks for your help because you guys always come through for me and are a great help.
  4. Nevermind about the white wire but i'm still missing the solid blue wire. Where should I start looking for the blue wire so i can get it to the coil/
  5. I'm missing the blue wire but there is a solid white wire that has another bare wire wrapped around it. Should I treat that white wire as the blue wire?
  6. I have no idea what that wire is for or where its supposed to go.
  7. I have drained the gas tank and put about 12 gallons of premium in it. The tach doesn't do anything when trying to start it.

  10. Thats a good question. I really dont know, I heard it has a more aggressive fuel and spark curve and more boost. I have a bad ecu and figured since i have to get a new one I might as well upgrade. Once the all of this is fixed and the car is running I will be porting everything and figuring out the power gains and increased spool from each one. Doing the intake, exhaust, and turbine housing. Head is either junk or on its way out so ill wait to port and polish it until its a new one.
  11. He parked it because it had an overheating issue which he thought was a head gasket or a cracked head. When I dug into the car I found a bunch of bad stuff wires not hooked up, ignition coil missing, no spark plugs, plug wires were all bad just for starters. I've fixed all of that but I'm still trying to figure out why I have no spark or injector pulses. Ill take some pictures of the ecu jumper and one of the wires that's cut and I don't know where it goes.

  13. I just bought an 87 starion that has been sitting for 11 years. Changed all the fluids and replaced almost all of the ignition parts under the hood. Car has no spark or injector pulse so I checked the ecu and it has been tampered with and has a jumper added to it. Would like to put a better ecu in to cross that off my list of possible problems. I'm just unsure as to what's all involved with adding the newer ecu. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
