  1. Do you still have that BOV on there? I hope not, if you do there's your problem. You don't realize what that is doing to a MAF based fuel system. At a higher rpm if your boost is gone that BOV can leak and it 100% does when you just slightly lift your foot then a massive volume of metered air is vented out and you can't understand why you are too rich? You have no engine "braking" efect when in gear so your rpms do not drop as quickly and that lets more air escape than does in a manual transmission car. At nearly any rpm level, on a slight decel you have more than enough vacuum to open that BOV and create all those issues.

I do have the BOV but the car had the misfire issues, before the BOV was placed there.

  2. Its not the "C" wheels, its the crap stock housing from the way its designed. To change that would be an improvement but the stock opening for the tubine wheel is tiny and most just immediately jump that to a 3". Did you get that from reading those two links? An open dump sucks, its loud as hell and it can shoot fire under your car and I'd not do that on a bet on YOUR car just to see if it doesn't burn down. The underside of most of these cars is covered in oil and grease.

    Mine with a open dump

  3. You are talking about a wastegate splitter, Here it is simplified:

  4. Autos rock and durban is the best color!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, I am quite intersted in this too. I think Nick did this or something similar (satty07)

I have satty's car and basically the hot side of the turbo against the strut tower is drilled and a flange is welded on. Then I have a external wastegate bolted onto the flange dumping to open air. Thing is idk if the flapper is welded, I think the arm is just removed and thats it. Works fine, and its running some ebay unit with no problem.

  5. Find the map sensor wire at the ecu plug. Pin a9 on a factory intercooled car, pin a17 on a car that was built with out the intercooler. Nick the wire with a knife and a connect the positive lead of a volt meter to it with a jumper wire. Ground the voltmeter negative lead. The voltage should vary with vacuum and boost changes. Spec says between .2 - 1.2 at idle and be between 1.5-2.6 with the key on engine off. The voltage should go into the 4.x volts at full boost. It should also jump to 1.5-2.6 at idle every two minutes momentary.

What would it do if it was not working correctly?

  6. so i have alway been a fan of the starion/ conquests. I have recently aquired a 86 tsi. i was told it had a different motor in it and it had a wiring issue. the car wont rev past 4k rpms. i have replaced the plugs for the injectors, plugs, cleaned the throttle body and injectors, gutted the cat. It had old gas in it so i added some seafoam, and fresh gas. still ran like crap. i took it to mechanic and he said it was building exhaust pressure in the head so everytime he took the oil cap off it would almost launch the oil cap off! He came the the conclusion it has a cracked head or a bad valve! i figure before spending the money for a new head i would see if i could get some input!! please help!?!

LOL idk about the oil cap flying off... This car can barely hold the oil underneath the valve cover at zero pressure, idk. Is it burning coolant? Is it burning oil? What happens at 4k? have you cleaned your injectors? Check your MAS? It could be that ur running stupid rich due to a busted Mass Airflow Sensor or a leaky injector/s.

  7. About a week ago my friend at work told me that he took his family to McDonald's.... His son got nuggets and went off to play. He came back and showed his Dad that there was something in the nugget he was eating. The dude took a pic and showed me. It is clearly a wasp. Can't really tell what type, but definately a typical wasp-type insect. I'll see if he can send me the pic tomorrow and I'll add it. So nasty.

Ok honestly that can happen, ur talking about huge numbers of meat going out. 1 fly can get into the chicken. We are not talking about a sealed plant like intel or the GTR factory.

  8. Gotta ask...what's your setup? Head unit,cd and yes cup holder. Was getting ready to purchase an aftermarket unit but would rather have that one.

Its out of the 94 Galant stock radio, with tape and cd, and cupholder. The stock bezel has to be filed down to fit the bottom built in cupholder tray. The tray is attached and comes with the stock Galant setup.
