  1. It is my understanding that the stock boost level on a stock G54B StarQuest was around 8 PSI... I've been talking to a local guy who claims his car boost 12 PSI and it's all original i.e. no aftermarket boost controller, fish tank valve, etc. Is he full of 'stuff' or am I mistaken? -Raffi
  2. So I had a couple of questions... 1) Can the externally adjustable shocks be re-built or are the trash if blow? 2) Besides the externally adjustable shocks that most people talk about here did SHP cars come with any other type of shock? -Raffi
  3. Soooo... we may need to talk. PM sent -Raffi
  4. MPI... You are making it sooooo hard for me... I found myself mapquest'ing the route. -Raffi
  5. I just parted with my '73 Alfa Romeao Spider... kinda to make room for the StarQuest. I liked the GTV6 and almost got one back in the day but I went with a 1984 Scirocco instead. Although the '84 is gone I now have a '87 Scirocco 16V (nothing stock) and a 1980 Scirocco (100% stock, all original 50K miles) in my garage... Oh, and I daily drive an '03 Jetta TDI... I know Volkswagens, I work on mine and have built & upgraded many others... but I want something else, I think a StarQuest would look real nice parked next to the 16V Scirocco (that's why I'm here.) The Rabbit Convertible is a nice car and it's built entirely in Germany, not all Volkswagens are... not to mention the 1.8L JH engine is virtually bullet proof (I know, I abused one for years, in a good way). -Raffi
  6. If it wasn't so far away and I'd be very interested... also since it's currently registered out of state (California) I think there are extra loops I need to jump thru to get it tagged. Still looking for one (every day) -Raffi
  7. Very nice... wish it was closer. -Raffi
  8. Thanks for all the replies and making me feel better... I wasn't the only one who couldn't find anything. The deal on the SHP car I was looking at kinda fell thru... the car wasn't worth the asking price for the condition it was in so the search goes on... if you know of a decent car in California let me know. Back sorta on topic... were SHP's only 88 & 89? Besides the 1" larger front and rear wheels and the adjustable shocks what else did these cars have over a 'regular' wide body? Some one said larger swaybars... Yes? Where they the only ones to have LSD diffs? Any info or links would be appreciated. I'll try the search again and see what pops up. -Raffi
  9. Yes, I'm new to the forum... No, I don't have a Starion or Conquest (yet)... Yes, I have my eye on one, an '88 Conquest TSi... No, I'm not a complete noob when it comes to cars... No, I don't know what SHP stands for... I've looked and have an idea but nothing factual. Can some one explain SHP or point me to a link. I'll bet this is a stupid question and if it isn't don't worry, I have a lot more stupid questions ready to go. This may also be the wrong forum to ask and if it is I apologies... did I mention I'm new to the forum? -Raffi
