  1. hey found this bumper cover in junkyard yesterday. said id give him 15 bucks for it and home it went. anyhow cut it in half.lol , drilled in couple brackets out of a old big screen tv. lol. and mounted her up. when i was done i thought hey this doesnt look that bad. looks better than it did i quess. just wanted to know what you guys think. im going to put a "300 dollar" one on when i paint but for now..... ugggggggggg i dont know how to attach the pics. there in my gallery
  2. Yea I know, but I thought maybe someone would have a couple laying around that could be had on the cheap. Im all for buying parts from dad but 2 centr caps is like 40$ shipped. I'm sure this is a fair price and all but I really don't need brand new oem. Just trying to fill a couple of holes in my wheels.
  3. wow i see this getting to be a long thread! just wanted to say i am one of those who never really worked on any car much. I didnt even have any tools when i got this bundle of joy. but i gotta to tell you without the help i got on these forums, this car would be gone. i often wondered if i was being a PITA with questions i felt have had to have been anwsered a thousand times. the very first thing i bought for this car was a Fsm as it soon became apparent that this car had mannnnnnnnnnnny problems. but for someone like me its very vague. it does provide a guideline and is very useful and absoulutely essential if your going to own this car, but nothing helped me like the detail that many of you have taken the time to go into. I cannot thank all of you enough for the help you have provided. I have this car sooo close to running like it should and i would of given up for sure without the help. one thing that will help anyone new is when they use the search function, use the advanced and click search in titles only. i got a LOT of anwsers with that feature. keep the peace, thanx.
  4. says "h" is for non intercooled in the manual. dont know how much of a difference that would make.

  6. so the "j" is the size? i see alot of different part numbers for the "j" injectors.
  7. Just wondering how the fuel injection system works for this quest. Both injectors fire at the same time where As 87+ alternate. The manual says j injectors. Does that mean any j injector? There's still a primary and a secondary right? Thanx

  9. JuSt a 30 min drive for me. I pretty sure the quest will make that. Lol No racing just watching here.
  10. the car is an 86' so stock boost is 7psi. I get full boost in 2nd most of the time and 3rd boosts full regularly.
  11. its an aftermarket glowshift digital. boost in 2nd and 3rd nice. sometimes in 2nd it doesnt boost as quickly as the other gears. just took my daughter to school and i gotta tell ya, this is the best this car has ran. so, idk.
  12. so your saying its boosting but not showing it on the gauge? doesnt pull like it does when it boosts in 2nd. just seems like a regular non turbo car in 1st. anywho if this is normal im happy. i dont have to fix anything!!! just didnt know. thanx
  13. its boosts good and rapidly in all gears except first and sometimes 2nd. sometimes 2nd will boost quickly also. even in 1 st it gets on it good no hesitation, needle climbs right up to 4000 rpm quickly. just no boost. none nada zilch. odd i say.
  14. oh yea, new intake manifold gasket, 89 trans swap, new f1 clutch, fresh oil. its hard to remember everything. lol
  15. ill make sure to update that. 1986 ,122000 miles, rebuilt throttle body, new plugs, wires, button and cap, new injecor clips, no cats, new o2 sensor, exhaust manifold redone (resurfaced, new nuts and helicoils), new downpipe, all kinds of redone connectors (cts, map,o2 and so on) no bov, cut air can, aftermarket boost gauge, narrowband a/f, .racing fuel cell. (i have no idea why thats there). i have a stock one port wastegate, no mbc. everything is hooked up as i just had the turbo off to do the manifold. all ic clamps are tight. is that arm to actuactor supposed to move when the car is off? mine dosent move either way. thanks
  16. well i can tramp it in first and never get a lick of boost. like 4500 rpms. so i think you anwsered my question ,as i thought, just something else wrong. anybody have any ideas. ive redone alot of things on this car. thanks
  17. being that im not that turbo literate, should i have boost in 1st gear. i would think yes, but idk. no boost in 1st, some boost in second, full boost from there on up. hey car runs good and i dont even know that im going to worry about fixing this unless its something easy. all hoses are tight , just redid the exhaust manifold, throttle body rebuilt, no cats. car has done this since i got it. any help is appreciated.

    help?

    its the one with the 2 prong connector going into the intake manifold.
  22. yea got the manifold out to the machine shop. problems worst than it first appeared. seems the helicoils that were already in there pulled. that leaves me to believe they werent put in properly. its a mess. nuts jammed behind nuts, random use of washers, wow! im just going to go to m10-1.25 and re-tap the two bads ones. if i screw that up -out with the head i quess. idk, hopefully this works. ill make sure to change out those washers while it off though. thanx
