Well, I thought I had a decent Conquest I was going to trade this for but after looking at it and talking to some of you I dont feel it was worth trading my bike for. The bike is a 1999 R6 with just over 11,000 miles on it. It has good tires with lots of life left, only about 1200 miles on them. The front forks have been rebuilt, I know they have some race tech internals but not sure what all because the friend of mine that built them was killed back in Sept. I think they are race tech springs. I also have fully adjustable Vortex rear sets on it. I also put a 2001 undertail on it. The bike is set up as a street fighter because on the way back from Push Mountain near Newport Ar the trailer broke and the bike fell off at about 70 MPH. All the damage was cosmetic.. the bike rides great still. The only issue the bike has is that it has the cursed 99-02 R6 trans. Sometimes it pops out of second. It doesnt always do it but sometimes it does. We put new gears and syncros (doubled 1-2 syncro) on the friend of mine that was killeds 01 R6 and never had another issue out of his. The tail section could use some paint but it is in good shape. I still have all the damaged body pieces. The mid-fairings are good. The upper, windscreen, headlight, and fairing stay are unusable. Rear seat cover was torn up.. I removed the cover and foam and just put the frame on so I can still put stuff in there. I am in Memphis, TN. I would take less than $4000 for it but not much less. Judging from what it seems to be worth its not worth it unless he can add some cash with it.

NIce.. I have a jeep I am building for rock crawling. 1996 XJ with 6.5 inch lift and 35s. I have blown up my fair share of motors. I have bought, sold and worked on about 35 diffrent cars now. DSMs, RX7s, 300ZX TT, civics, mustangs, supra.. you name it I have probably had my hands in it. The biggest thing I dont know much about at this point is tunning. The radiator wasnt puking.. just alittle steam and bubbles from the smaller hose coming from where the upper radiator hose goes into the block. I still dont know if I am going to.. I am torn cause I have always wanted one of these but I dont think its worth trading my bike for.

The motor is Semi built I guess you would say.. the car is how he got it but there is no telling what the person who had it before him did. Nothing really looks hacked up though which is good. I saw no wires hacked and spliced on. He seems to think its not the stock turbo but I was thinking it was or was close to what was stock. With it having the pretty clean and rust free body and the motor seems to be pretty solid I think I am going to get it but I am going to sleep on it and see if there is anything I or any of you could thing of that would be a big reason not to.

I am not sure.. he hasnt driven the car a whole lot I dont think. He has spend most of his funds on his Evo he built for autocrossing. He had planned to build this but has lost interest now. I didnt do a compression check on it. It has had plenty of fuel thats for sure.. half throttle put a cloud out like a modded diesle truck. The A/F controler is acualy as Haltech F5 which is for controling secondary fuel injectors. It has two extra injectors mounted on the intake pipe just before the intake mani.

I went and drove the car today. It needs suspension thats for sure but I expected that. Doesnt appear to have any oil leaks. Once it got warm there was a small hose coming off from where the upper radiator hose connects that was steaming and had alittle water coming out of it. It shifted smooth and didnt feel like the clutch was slipping. It is very very rich.. if you got on it hard it was like a deisel truck taking off. It was over boosting too.. aftermarket autometer gauge was peaking over 20 PSI. It has a mitsu turbo.. looked like a 14b but I didnt see the TD05 markings on the housing. The dash is starting to crack, seats are terrible but he has most of the interior out of an 86 that is in better condition. While its not perfect is it much better than what is in there. The body was pretty straight with decent paint.. no pealing I noticed. It had only one dent that I noticed and the front bumper needs to be replaced. I saw no rust at all anywhere on the car. He also said he has another set of stock staggered wheels with tires for it. He has a 16G off of his evo that has about 30,000 miles on it that he said I could have as well. Over all to me it seemed to be in very good shape to be as old a car as it is. Obviously it is going to need work but most 20+ year old cars will. I forgot to take any pictures. The motor was built around 05 and is said to have about 10,000 miles on it.

Very true.. I had one a couple weeks ago of a shooting suspect. On the way to the scene I saw a blue crown vic almost hit a guy on the side of the road so I turn around and check it out, there are 4 younger male blacks in the car. I am acually walking back to my car letting them go when the description goes out.. wouldnt ya know its 4 younger male blacks in a mid 90s blue crown vic. I intantly pull them over again and get other cars rolling my way. We pull them out, check them closer and the check the vehicle. We check the car and find a gun under the seat. All a good stop and check.. not the guys who did it though. They still went to jail because they were all under 21 with a hand gun in the car. The only way we knew there was no way they did the shooting is they had a little .22 with cheap lead shot rounds in it and the guy who got shot with something big enough it blew his arm off. With that though you are talking about a violent felony.. alittle more rights to check that than like you were saying with the fireworks. Here fireing of fireworks is just against city ordenance unless they were firing them at people.. even the that would be a streach to turn it into something.

Correct, the other way around that is if the vehicle is being towed because noone can come get it then we have to inventory the vehicle to make sure nothing of value is in the car and if there is we log it so the wrecker company can steal it and have noone know if it was there or not. The bad side of that for the person being arrested is anything we find during the inventory they can be charged with because we have a legal reason to be checking the vehicle.

If a dog hits on something that is probably cause.. no dog hit = no search. You have alot of rights in your car how ever PC is pretty easy to get but there has to be some evidence.. smell of a burnt firework would work in that case. A firework wraper. However BMX is right.. you cant just have your car seached at random with out there being some kind of evidence you may have been responsable. Hell, If I lock you up for driving on a suspended license I cant search your car without your permission. Unless, there is always an unless, we smell something that would lead us to believe there is an illegal item in the car or see something like a bag with some seeds or stems still in it or a container of alcohol etc. I seached a guys car because he had a loaded mag for a semi auto pistol in the cup holder and found the gun that it belongs to under his seat. Seeing the loaded mag gave me PC to check for a weapon because it would be reasonable to think if he has a loaded mag in the car then there is likely a gun that goes with it. Had he not then no harm no foul.. however because he did and he did not have a carry permit he went to jail.

We have some old beat up cars but they dont have lights.. they are strickly survalance and will call in other cars or get info to get warrents from.

Texasquest assuming all officers strech the limit of rights is what really made me mad. Most officers do not because we dont want to go to jail just like most normal people dont. Even if we did strech the limit of rights that is why there are District Attornies who have to approve out arrest tickets. Not to mention the Lt. and other superiors who go over our paperwork. The thread I think it great.. we have one on my local car club. Its the comments assuming all/most officers are crooked that make me mad. There are alot of dickhead cops.. I have run into them before I became an officer and after. Most officers are not though

I am not going to tell you it is all your attitude but alot of it is. I have caught people in the local racing stop and saw them race. I could have taken all of them to jail and towed both of their cars. The thing is that used to be me. I used to street race and when done safely it is pretty safe. The ones I caught racing.. I checked their license and insurance. I talked to them for a few min and sent them on their way. I had never met them. I had a lady doing 30 over.. I have the option to tow your car for that. She had a good license and insurance. I wrote her for 15 over.. is it a good ticket to have? Not really but it is better than walking home. I dont write alot of tickets but I work in south Memphis.. I have alot bigger things to worry about. If you dont have a warrent or a suspended license it is a shock were I work so if you are good with insurance I try to give people a break.. but it all depends on how you act towards me.
