I agree, check your plugs and gap, check the timing. Before you tear anything apart, Id do a compressing check also. If your compression is low your not going to make good power. It could also my in your exhaust, if the muffler or cat are clogged or restricted, will kill your power.

I have an 88 conquest, and recently got a 89 toyota supra with lots of goodies on it to part out(has a blown motor). I was thinking of trying the SAFC on the conquest. My car is mostly stock, turbo back exhaust, 14B turbo from my talon, balance shaft elim, and all the emissions removed. Has anyone ever worked with a SAFC on a conquest, and are they even worth the trouble of wiring it up? Or should I just wait untill I can do the mega squirt setup I want? Also, does anyone know the wiring configruation for wiring it up to an 88 ecu?
