  1. I adjusted the fuel pressure to around 38 psi at idle. Now I tried to drive the car today and it was very cold this morning. I let the car warm up , but not that long. I tried to take off and the car fell on its face around 3000 RPM. I put my foot to the floor at this point and NOTHING!! I could only get it back to my house barley tapping the gas pedal. It stumbles ever so slightly at idle, while it was idling i tried to move or play with some of the injector connectors to hear any audible changes in idle and there was none. By this time the car was up to full temp and it then drove all the way thru the RPM range at any throttle with the brief bucking around 3000 or just before boost. What Gives man?????

  3. Thanks for the links JP :thumbsup: I will check the filters tomorrow afternoon if it isnt raining out and start there and eliminate that issue. Then move to check to see if I have injector leakage. From what Technology said it sounds really close to what is going on right now with the car. Wouldnt doubt it that its a combination of the two...fuel filters and injectors. I dont know if the previous owner replaced either of them. At least if i do that i will have some piece of mind and know whats in the car for sure
  4. Yeah dude it starts the bucking right around 3000 rpm, also exhibits the same symptom like you described when in third gear. So just replace the prim+secondaries together. Thats probably the best thing to do and arent they sold in pairs anyway? Dont have any starquest buddies nearby besides "Fanta" A.K.A. Justin. But i haven talked to him in awhile. I see that you have links to Fuel injectors, is that a good resource to get them. Have you bought any from them and have you had any issues?? Thanks Man
  5. Is there anything i can do now to see if in fact that is the problem? Did the symptoms i described give you the idea that that may be the cause?
  6. I did just do the "suck test" and it clicked. Didnt think about the hole variences in the diaphram. I dont have a vac tester/gauge on hand. For the cost of the tester it wouldnt hurt to replace the VA unit and eliminate that as a source for the problem, Going outside shortly to plug up the line to VA and see if the problem persists and will get back to report the findings.

  8. I have an aftermarket summit fuel regulator and its reading 32 psi at idle. I just routed the vac lines so that i omit the boost controller and it actually does the same thing but very faintly. It seems like when its at a higher boost it does the same thing but magnified. It could very well be the plugs, because the car does run a little rich under hard acceleration. Doesnt hurt to check , but it feels like something else...
  9. Hey Guys, I know you can get me through this one, after helping me with my other troubleshooting issues. I have a 19C, MSD ign, 2.5 DP, Manual Boost controller. My problem is when i drive the car and stay out of boost mode she runs fantastic, the minute i hammer down on it, it bucks and shutters on me briefly then takes off. The weird thing is that if i play with the throttle about 60% from wide open through the boost..it drives hard!! Otherwise it shutters and bucks on me. I checked my vac advance and thats working properly. My vac lines for the most part are correct. One thing though when i bypass my boost cotroller and run stock , it drives fine???????????????????????????????????????????????? :hangman: Thanks for your help and HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU ALL!!
  10. Mike Your too cool man. The ultimate drawback for a Apt. renter if you a car guy is the ability to work on it on the property. Once my lease is up here, and if my finances are in better standings, a house with a GARAGE is in order. Even if i cant purchase it , i will look to rent it. Nothing like your space,tools and time to work on your car. Nothing is better than to be up late making noises tearing things up in your ride. But anyways, cant tell you how much i appreciate the help man. Also JusP. I will keep you posted on the progress. Again thank you :thumbsup:
  11. I tried to give the starter a slap with a hammer and still did the humming sound as i tried to crank it. However, I did the reverse clutch popping routine and it fired up. When i shut it off it did the same thing with the humming as i lay on the key switch to restart it. So does that mean the teeth on the flywheel are busted or the starter..or BOTH. Man this sucks!! :hangman: Apartment living doesnt allow for much R&R you know...... :confused0024:

  13. For the last couple of weeks, everytime I go to start the car the starter makes like an electrical arching sound and the car starts. It did that on and off for the last two weeks. Then today i went to start it and all i hear is a humming noise from somewhere under the hood and the car doesnt start. I hear this humming everytime i try to start the car. I assume its the starter making the noise. I checked the voltage at the battery and its fine. Does that sound like more than likely its the starter? Where can I get a good starter from at a resonable price, besides Advance or Autozone. Any suggestions as to where I should start my diag on this problem??

  15. That is perfect Jus P. Can I still purchase the TB2 kits from FIP? Someone said in this thread that i would have a hard time finding one? There site is up and running and looks like they have them in stock to sell. Where is a reputable retailer or person that in fact i can pick up a real Walbro 255lph to buy. You are definately a great resource about alot of info on these cars JusP. I greatly appreciate the time to thoroughly answer my questions. Based on response on this thread about the TBI2, I am certain to gravitate to that route. TBI2 reviews in the thread from everyone were very helpful in making my decision..again thank you. I like that set-up under the hood Zactec :thumbsup:
  16. I am looking for just that..a fast tbi set up, with good daily driver characteristics. Jus p and Sly that pretty much gives me a better outlook on which way i will go. I really appreciate that, along with the rest of you guys input. Sly, besides the TB2 set up, what other accessories were needed to get you up and running. Think you could pm me a checklist i could follow and price out?? Thanks Ralph
  17. Need help in where to find the oil cooler lines. I need both the return and feed lines. They are leaking slightly at the fitting where the rubber meets it, on the oil filter housing end. I thought of having new ends made on these existing lines. Anyone have any resources or suggestions.... Thank you guys :thumbsup:

  19. AWESOME!! The way these cars are so angular, it looks as if the car should have came that way from the factory. Like the Delorean, alike in the angular design. Looks fantastic IMO. :thumbsup: You did say you got the kit from LamboDoors.com? The price i saw for the bolt-on kit for the Starquest was $499 ??
  20. Has anyone used the FIP TBI upgrade kits, i.e. TB-PRO2. Do you need a GM MAF for this set up? How are the results and performance with kit. I was looking into this kit and use it with a 19c. What kind of power roughly would i be making. What else would I need to get optimum results from this kit? Some feedback on these guys and their product would be great thanks
  21. Are those dyno results from the MAF translator and the 850cc primary Injector? When you say "wideband" does that mean the o2 sensor or the A/F meter, or both? Those dyno results on the 19c@16psi, will the Hp be greater with boost higher than 16? So let me make sure im on the right track... so to get results like that, what i wil need is: 1. MAF Translator 2. MAF sensor 3. Wideband o2 4. larger primary injector Is this right so far? Do i make the tuning attempts, or have some one else do them. You guys are great!
  22. I think the HID in the fogs look great :eek1bluegreen: Definate mod on mine very soon, will follow up with the HID in the driving lamps too! Looks great man!! Will probably pick up some of those clear lenses from" Jus P" since my lenses are kinda shot. Good work my dude
  23. Hey Tim that was very helpful. You answered my question perfectly-Thank you. Can I ask you Tim..@ around 18psi,( to get to that amount of boost ) how can i do that with this turbo? What will I further need to achieve that boost from this 19c? What will I need to change? Or Add for that matter, Your on top of your game man... Ralph
  24. For Certain i would like it to be a dependable set up. As far as expensive defined... I would have to say shelling out more than 2k with what I have already is pushing it. Maybe I could afford more later on.
