  1. gagegregory, 86TSiGuy PMs sent. Thanks for your interest.
  2. car still available... 400 takes it. Thanks for the good word FijiPhil.
  3. This isn't an auction. First one with cash takes it. It's better for someone to save it from getting sent to the junker. Thanks
  4. I'm selling an 86 black-on-black Conquest for my friend. The reason for sale is a few weeks ago, the oil pressure fell low and finally killed a few bearings on the motor. The acquired the car aware of the conditions it was in. The body is in awesome shape and the interior is in good condition too. Everything works on the car minus the cruise control, power antenna, and the radio which has volume problems. Car has the knock box eliminated as it's been switched over to MSD. CLEAN AND CLEAR TITLE. Perfect donor to another Starquest or a perfect shade tree mechanic project. The motor leaks oil, power steering pump is in need of replacement, head taps, main fan will not kick on. The car will start but during normal driving it buckles real bad. He is not parting the car out as he needs to get rid of it completely. It's located in Newport News, VA 23602. You can reach him at (915) 487-7963 after 5PM EST for pics or other questions. Please no low ballers. It's in awesome shape minus the engine. Car needs to be gone ASAP so shoot a reasonable offer. DON'T REPLY TO ME. Thanks!
  5. I've had this problem for quite some time now. I'm very patient, but it finally got to me. Every time I shut the car off as in turn off the ignition and I restart it, the factory radio goes to full volume on it's own. I know none of the volume buttons are stuck on the steering wheel or the stereo itself. I've never seen this type of problem. I really don't know where to start ripping things apart. I would replace the stereo with an newer one, but that is later down my to-do lists plus it works fine without the annoying volume-raising. Hopefully someone has had this problem before and point me the right direction on where to start. Thanks in advanced...
  6. I'm guessing this is for the 86 as well? Thanks!
  7. I wanted to know where you guys get your ignition positive from. I'm hooking up an MSD setup and need a reliable source. Thanks~
  8. I went to the thread that had the wiring diagram to hook up the MSD tach adapter and ditch the knock box. I went back to it and it was taken off. Does anyone know where I can get it? Thanks!
  9. the fan motor works. i cross connected it to the working driver side fan connector.
  10. My passenger side fan will not kick on. I know the fan motor is good because I swapped the connectors with the driver fan when it kicked on. I replaced both thermosensors on the bottom of the rad and the relays behind the passenger side headlight. I chased all the wiring down and it looks good. I was told before to send the rad to get rodded out. I spoke to the rad guy and he asked me if the car runs hot all the time, which is not the case because on open highway driving it runs at regular temp. He told me the rad doesn't need to get rodded because if it needed, it would run hot all the time. The stop and go traffic is what gets it hot. I chased all the wiring down and it looks good. What other methods can I try to get the passenger fan going? Where is the optimal operating temp according to the tell-tale temp gauge? Some tell me it's 3/4 while others tell me it's below half. I'm very close to taking it to a auto electrician and blow more money, but I hopefully can get it going myself. Thanks.
  11. I was replacing the gasket where the throttle body meets the manifold. When I removed it I found a pool of fuel sitting in the intake. I know this might be a stupid question for some, but to me it doesn't look right. Is this normal for the cars? I just want to make sure, before I spend money ordering some new injectors. If they are bad, where can I get a good deal on some stock replacements? Thanks...
  12. I did a bit of troubleshooting yesterday with what little tools I had which is none. I found out that the passenger side fan does not kick on at all, but the driver side will at very high temp. I did it and found out that the passenger fan motor still works, but won't kick on at all. Thanks, Dad. Never would thought of that method. So my next question is, which fan kicks on first? My guess would be the passenger side fan, since the driver side kicks at very high temp. Sorry for all these questions. It's a learning experience for me and I will try all the methods you guys mentioned when I invest in some tool, that is. Thanks again, in advanced. I ask myself that everytime...
  13. I noticed that my fans kick in at very high temp. The gauge rises 3/4 of the way and finally the fans decide to come on. It's a little too high, is it? I looked at the FSM and I see there are two components for the cooling fan system. There are the thermosensors on the bottom of the rad and the some relays behind the passenger light. Which do I have too change out and pay attention to? I'm a muscle car type of guy and I'm used to belt driven fans and all that sort. I'm ready for any bashing, by the way. I'm new these type of cars with so many sensors, regulators, relays and all that sort. Thanks in advanced...
  14. I hate to bring this thread back from the dead, but I will totally agree with PDX. I was on my way back from North Carolina when the Ignitor took a crap on me in the middle of HWY US-17. It was a nightmare getting a tow truck to come all the over at 2AM and to tow me back to Virginia from the middle of nowhere. I've heard the dreaded rumors that the Ignitor is not all that reliable. I learned the hard way. If I would've spent a couple of extra hundred dollars on upgrading my 20 year old ignition system, I wouldn't of paid three times more later. I finally switched over to the MSD setup. I felt better throttle response along with a smoother idle. I know some people have their opinions on the system, but the MSD system works wonders on reliability. I have it installed on my 318 cid. Mopar V8 with a HiPo Comp Cam and I don't care wt.... anyone says. I works wonders. Money is well worth it. Sorry again for bringing this thread up, but I don't wish for anyone to go through this unfortunate ordeal I went through.
