  5. the blue was tied in for my constant..and the red for my acc..I think thats right ... I know the black and yellow wire which is lighting I cut and capped off
  6. ok semi updated messed around with the dimmer switch today and Im thinking that may be my problem..when I unplug the dimmer switch and turn on my headlighs the hvac light now stays on..but still no dash lights..from what I have read the dimmer switch is sensitive and when I wired in the new cd player may have shorted it out..
  7. all fuses are good..only wires I used were the blue for power..the red for the acc..and the speaker wires ..all other wires were cut and capped...
  8. Ok today I finally got around to installing my pioneer dvd/cd player in my 89 conquest...I used the conquest wiring found a diagram online and just wired it up without using a 1g harness ect..cd player works great no problems there, but now when I got it in tonight turn the headlights on and no dash lights or climate control lights..when I turn the headlights off I get my climate control back..I know it probably has something to do with the dimmer switch because I did not run that to my new cd player..just curious to get imput to see if thats the problem if so what needs to be done just the dimmer switch wire from the quest harness to the cd player??? if thats the case what is the color on the dimmer wire??? any help at all will be great or advice thanks
  9. I think I may have found my problem ..my pink and orange wires were together..instead of slpicing the mas line into I just cut a slit in the wire and wired both the pink and orange together...stupid me haha..but I do need to clear any old settings out of the unit and go from there
  10. Ok bare with me while I try to describe what is going on. I recently installed an safc2 on my 89 quest tsi following the diagram in the faq section. the safc2 is working properly and you can tell that its making adjustments to the system, but my question is when you first turn the system on you have to choose what car type you have which I have done that also must choose what sensor type you are using.. the 4 choices are hotwire..pressure..flap..and karmen..I have installed one of the safc2 on a talon before and the setting that I was told to choose was karmen..when choosing karmen on the conquest the idle becomes erratic and misses like crazy even worse when driving the car..but with this setting the boost gauge on the car works fine.. when choosing flap the cars smoothes out in idle, but still dosent run great..but the factory boost gauge almost seems to go in reverse..is there something im missing..maybe a wire in the wrong place..also the diagram showed an 02 sensor mod..I put the wire where it said it should go, but not really sure what 02 mod it was talking about ....any help would be great
  11. I will try that and see what happens..I have an extra vac advance may throw it on and see what happens
