Big Al
All right I found it on Craigslist and went and had a looksie. I snapped a bunch of pics to post up here and see if there's anyone interested in picking her up and saving her. The good: Started right up (Though died likely due to lack of gas or sitting for 5+ years) new plugs and wires, COMPLETELY THOROUGHLY AND UTTERLY stock! Nothing removed or cut out. Original color is silver and she's a flatty. Turbo door handles and a red velour interior. Manual seatbelts and a 5 speed. All original and complete even with the silver buttoned mitsu stereo. New battery and ends as well. Now for the bad. She's been sitting 5 years. The TB obviously leaked and is in need of a rebuild. Valve cover gasket needs replaced, engine bay needs a good cleaning and sprucing up, interior needs the same if not more. The sunroof is AFTERMARKET and the glass was busted out. He put a piece of plexi and glued it down to stop any further water from entering the interior. It WILL need a good steam cleaning before I'd take it on any trips. She has a few door dings and a couple of very small rust spots. 134k on the clock and all original. The guy is asking $800 but he emphasized he WANTS IT GONE. He's a Nova guy and doesn't want to deal with the Conquest anymore. I have a feeling that he'd likely let it go for a few hundred or so under what he's asking. If I had the space and the time I'd pick up this flatty and restore her 100%. She can be saved I think. I told the guy I'd put the pics up here and let him know if I get some interest. She's located in Suffolk VA. For the full group of pics I snapped go here: http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc165/S.../86%20Conquest/ And now for the pics: http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc165/Socially_Unacceptable/86%20Conquest/86Conquest021.jpg http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc165/Socially_Unacceptable/86%20Conquest/86Conquest005.jpg http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc165/Socially_Unacceptable/86%20Conquest/86Conquest010.jpg http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc165/Socially_Unacceptable/86%20Conquest/86Conquest004.jpg http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc165/Socially_Unacceptable/86%20Conquest/86Conquest001.jpg http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc165/Socially_Unacceptable/86%20Conquest/86Conquest014.jpg http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc165/Socially_Unacceptable/86%20Conquest/86Conquest015.jpg http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc165/Socially_Unacceptable/86%20Conquest/86Conquest011.jpg http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc165/Socially_Unacceptable/86%20Conquest/86Conquest024.jpg

Big Al
How'd you e-mail him? I don't even have an e-mail address for him. I called him and went out to look at it. Well it USED to have a sunroof up there. Someone busted the glass out. He put plexi up there at least to keep the water out of the interior. I don't think it'd be THAT hard to put new sheetmetal in there would it?

Big Al
Hhhhmm... Wonder if he's listed it in a few CL areas. That's where I found it. Targa conversion? Are you crazy? I've seen what it took to do a targa conversion on an Eclipse. The guy basically had to weld a support structure so the car didn't fold itself in half. I think I'd have it easier just cutting a roof off a donor and sticking it on.

Wouldn't need nearly as much strengthening since itd still have some structure upstairs...lol
Lives4Speed
Targa, T-Top.....Why not just replace the GLASS? How rusty would the floor be? In the Pics the Pass floor looks to be holding water & the driver's mat has come loose due to water soaking. I'm sure it smells nice too. deez
As much as I love these cars, that thing is roached and ready for another life as a toaster oven or whatever they can recycle it into.
