awdaniel
Any ideas on why my AC compressor want engage. It's full of freon and was working great before it just stop. I think it's the AC relay but not sure how to test it. Also need to know the part number. I've been searching for it for 2 weeks. Its starting to get hot!!! The one they ordered at O'Reilys wasn't even close. AC Relay
BrazilBoy
I don't believe it is your relay most likely your dual pressure switch http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.p...nditioner+relay
mikec
The most common reason the A/C compressor won't enage is a busted overheat sensor switch - on the thermostat housing you'll see several electric and vacuum sensors. The upper-most electric one (and the physically smallest one) should have a single wire on it. Unplug the wire and ground it... see if your a/c works now. If so, that sensor is shot. It's an ON/OFF switch that normally connects the electrical prong/tank to ground as long as the engine is not overheating. That sensor tends to rot internally with age. If the tang wiggles/twists, that's proof the sensor has rotted. mike c.
