cyberquest
yes you can remove the A/C pump. and yes they have a NON A/C bracket to replace the huge A/C one. finding one might be a little tough. i will find ya a pic and a part number. Starionblk
really why what kind of gears do a d50 run? better than our stock? i can see why for manual steering but wouldnt that be a complain to turn these cars without pw steering? cyberquest
hard to turn sitting still a little, but rolling i like the tighter feel the manual steering has. and some D50's use lower gears then ours that will adapt to our rear ends. i think they are 390 gears. shift1313
the 83s had a non ac option. i think the bracket was $13 from mitsu if it was still available. The part number is floating around here somewhere. Using the d50 rear gears i think requires the use of extra shims because i think the pinion is a little different(just from what i remember. Im running non AC on my car. I just left the stock bracket on there. If you want you could cut up your stock one(if you dont plan on reusing ac ever) here is a pic of the stock bracket with ac http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj39/shift1313/Starion/bracketair1.jpg
cyberquest
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e82/silverquest/album_picCA1H2N35.jpg If you remove your A/C, you can get rid of alot of weight using this bracket. This bracket can be painted because the Alternators ground is the stationary bolt. MD0027751 about $5. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d182/Professor-Quest123/Batt%20Pos/UG-0.jpg and it would be a good idea to read over this topic that i borrowed those pics from. good info. http://starquest.i-x.net/viewtopic.php?t=1180
