Yeah i know its not a flatbody but i really didnt know where else to post this. And i think my 83 challenger is more like a flatbody conquest than much else.

Well my dad obviously thinks the vibration from the car is coming from the drive shaft soo....we decide to pull it.

(BS eliminated)

welllll

he said the bearings are out and we went to a few parts stores and they had the drive shaft bearings (im retarded and dont know the names) for $22 a piece.

The middle section had a rubber area and the part number for a 88 Dodge Ram 50 is HB30 but i dont know what you call the thing? (another bearing)

I will get more info soon and post a picture...just curious ify ou guys know other vehicles with a similar drive shaft?

my 89 conquest is all in one piece and isnt as long as the challengers...maybe the flat bodies are more like mine?

Thanks in advance!

that is a picture for the dodge ram 50

mine is just not center and the rubber is pretty tore up

My dad thought maybe we could fill it with silicone or something?

That picture will do as good as any...i just dont want to pay 70+ for it :(

ah so i should expect to pay about 120 for the smaller ones and that one

jeez

any chance we could go the whole silicone in it? :P

i wouldnt. you would be better off putting playdoh in there rather than silicone. your going to have to pony up the cash im affraid.

damn...

well how bad could this small vibration be?

"i" think its been there since we rebuilt the motor

dad didnt notice and thats been a year or longer?

maybe we will just put it back the way it is and hope for the best?

*edit

i should say the bearing part of that carrier is FINE

its just the rubber is ugly and torn

the other bearings will be replaced for sure

Hmm well i just figure i could get the carrier bearing cheaper if its for a more popular vehicle like a mighty max or something.

We are going to call around and see what people say...i hope to try and get one for more around $40 if thats possible at all

$70 for a little piece of rubber...sheesh :D
