DJpowerHaus
how did you get 8.5-1 pistons the only ones avalible when i built mine where 8.8-1 very well done engine Was yours a 7bolt engine? My 6 bolt was 8.5:1, but 7 bolt is 8.8:1 and that holest looks much differnet than mine:http://projectzerog.com/drifting/images/hx35_gingerale_td04h.jpg And for the guy looking for the RX7 transmission bolted to the 4G64http://projectzerog.com/drifting/images/RX7transmissionBoltedTo4G64.jpg
Hybrid-4G
You're right about the Holset turbo...if your's is a HX-35 then it will look a bit different. Mine is actually a H1C...very similar turbo, it is just an older model I believe. I got the turbo in the mail the other day...it's brand new and freaking HUGE compared to the lowly EVO III 16G. I am runny the clutch setup that you can read in my SIG, and the stock tranny...for now at least...we will see what happens when I blow that up
DJpowerHaus
I had a SBC DXD on my 4G63 swapped SQ. It was an amazing clutch. It could hold power (although I never tested how much) and it could do traffic and drifting and even the parade at Pigeon Forge in 2004.
Mingo1
So what is the cost of this hybrid motor?
Hybrid-4G
Too much? A lot? I've spent a ton of money... that is all I know... haha =) Progress is being made, we are mocking up IC piping, hoses, turbo mounting, etc cause we got the engine sitting on motor mounts trying to figure everything out at the moment. Plan is to be running by this Summer...but realistically, we shall see what happens.
Mingo1
So the tranny is the stock one with a wideblock 4g64 correct? I ask because I am thinking about doing this instead of building my engine.
DJpowerHaus
the stock transmission will bolt right up to the 4G64 and the 6 bolt starion flywheel will bolt rigth up to the 6 bolt 4G64 crank. If anyone wants and idea of how much it costs, I have posted my spreadsheet that I have been keeping strict track of all my expenses. Its broken down into engine (longblock), ECI (fuel/intake/exhaust/turbo) and Transmission (RX7, ACT, Fidanza, etc). Pink are parts that are in the mail, red are parts I still need and orange are parts I'm holding off on getting. http://projectzerog.com/files/temporary_racecar_sheet.htm
