stacyLynn
Can someone point me in a direction to figure this out. OK the car ran fine until I had to replace the intake manifold I went ahead and rebuilt the throttle body, replaced the steering gear box, thermostat and belts. Also replaced the the valve cover gasket.. NOW. I can't get it to start. It's driving me nuts. What am I missing? This is my first project car that I am trying to do by myself. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Edited December 31, 2012 by stacyLynn
Ironside
When you try and start it does the tach jump?
stacyLynn
Yes... I did have to take the distributer out to get to a bolt. Could I have screwed up putting it back in.? DMNDSTAR87
I don't see anything on your list that would require you to pull the dizzy to get to a bolt but if it was reinstalled wrong that is definately a problem...anyways always check easy things first...r u getting fuel? How bout spark? Did u make sure all sensors were plugged back in when u reinstalled throttle body to the intake? Injector clips reinstalled on the right injectors?I'm sure your MPS/ISC are way out of adjustment along with your TPS.check things 1at a time and eliminate items till you find the culprit..Gig out Edited December 31, 2012 by DMNDSTAR87
Ironside
Do you have a timing light?
stacyLynn
I have a timing light. That's my next step. I'm sure it's something simple.
stacyLynn
I took the distributer out to get to a nut on the bottom of the intake. Someone before me bugared up the wiring found some wires that have broken off. Wish people would do sh**t right. Not half a** grrrr
