Indiana
You may have got the sensor ground for the CTS or the other wire goes to the hvac and trans. od control. Just the one wire goes to the gauge. You'll have to unwrap more or you've got two more choices so you got a 50/50 chance of getting the right one now. Those wires its hard to tell those colors yes from the heat and time. http://www.b2600turbo.com/images/ECICTS.jpg
Indiana
The temperature gauge unit and the temperature switch are shown in these diagrams. The gauge unit with the two terminals shares the other terminal between the trans and hvac and has no effect on the temperature gauge its a dual purpose sensor that you can replace with a less expensive single terminal one if you have no automatic transmission or control OD activation in another way. A-91 is the gauge unit in the first two pictures http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/208681_1342578622707_1778479606_597471_4837804_n.jpghttp://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/216967_1342578822712_1778479606_597472_6062750_n.jpg A-89 is the switch, that sensor was in the upper thermostat housinghttp://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/206998_1342579022717_1778479606_597473_2498161_n.jpg Edited April 15, 2011 by Indiana
KEVIN_TECHEE
So if i read right i need the sender probe that screws into the thermo cover/hose mount? Just making sure i understand, cause i'm looking for the part number to buy a new one that i know is good of the two I tryed one gives no reading and the other pegs the gauge so i must have the right yellow / blue wire. Indiana
That sensor in the stat housing has only one purpose and its a shut down of the a/c compressor because its kills the magnetic clutch via the relay. It has no gauge purpose or any other purpose and it doesn't do that until coolant reaches 239 degrees.

rcm
I just replaced my sender for the gauge with a wt600 from oreillys or you can use a tu68 from auto zone and the yellow /blue like indy said. They are hard to see which color.Let the other wire loose for a/c which it doesnt need.
