BlackBII
SO I was at the wrecking yard the other day. Saw a Mazda B2600i with what looked like a G54B engine in it. It had a 12 valve head and the intake and exhaust were switched side. Exhaust on the driver side. It was MPI.. The valve cover and head looked very similar to the Starions...only reversed. I'm sure someone on here should know if this head would bolt on our blocks??? Just curious..

D_Venable
yep, if intake exhaust is switched, it's the Mazda engine. Although, for 87 and 88, Mazda did run the G54B, carbureted, in the B2600 pickups
Metric-man
G6 engine replaced the G54B for the B2600 truck in mid 1988that's the cylinder head you mention. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_G_engine#G6 Edited December 1, 2010 by starion_cult
