It is comments like this that confuse me about socall "transmission shops" I had never torn an automatic apart before in my life. I tore mine down, ordered parts and reinstalled within a week and to my knoledge is still going today. With Kevlar clutches and HD bands the total ran me about $260 in parts if I rember right. I hate when shops do that, they are as bad as construction contractors IMO, I luckily have a shop that I have known the owner persionaly for 30 years, if I cant trust them that I have no faith in humanity.

Did you already have the tools to pull it apart? A lift and trans lift also would make things much easier too. If you had to rent the tools to pull it apart, do you think maybe Autozone?
