I charged the battery and tried starting it but it just kept turning over, then the headlamps would go up and go back down. I have no idea what this could be and need some help. Even if you charged the battery it will probably not hold a charge so just go get a new one and hook it up. after you hook it up you should run the car and check the volts from the termials to make sure your alternator is still up to par. First test for ignition spark, place the coil wire from the dist. cap on the negative battery cable and turn the key to the start position. Did you have a spark there?See if you have fuel pressure, key in start position and have someone listen near the fuel tank. If you have an 84-87 and a dead plastic ignitor the fuel pump will not come one. If the fuse link that says ECI by the battery is dirty the fuel pump will not turn on.
