Arizona Project Starion $2500obo

If you can't come see this car in person in Apache Junction, AZ, please stop reading now. I will not ship and I won't email 20 pictures (yes I have a bad attitude - I'm divorced:).

I have a running black 1987 Mitsubishi Starion ESI-R with 116K that I purchased several months ago (running), with current tags and emmisions with the intention of rebuilding/restoring. Until recently this was my daily driver but it had been overheating on my commute to work (30 miles each way), so I decided to leave it parked until I can fund further repair.

Unfortunately, my divorce/attorney's fees are costing me an arm and a leg so I have to consider selling. I have spent about 2K in upgrades/replacement parts/labor but it still needs a head gasket, AC doesn't work (previous owner said it needs frion recharged but since it needs to be switched to the "new" frion it was too expensive for him to do it), cruise control doesn't work, and it has a hole in the top of the gas tank - it will hold gas up to 3/4 tank but it started spilling gas when I filled it up last - could just be the filler neck (I have another car with a spare tank but I haven't swapped them yet). The body has a dent behind the driver's side door and a small dent on the front driver's side fender. The interior is black leather and is in very good shape. All electronics work but headlights stick sometimes.

I also have an 87 White Conquest TSI-R parts car (minus head and tranny), a freshly rebuilt head, and rebuilt engine with 15K that will come with it. I have a long list of parts replaced and upgraded but I don't want to go into detail here. I really want to complete this project so I won't just give it away. I need to get enough cash to make a dent in lawyer's fees/spousal maintenance or I'll just sit on the car for 6 months or more until I can get my project going again.

If you are serious and would like to take a look let me know but no lowballers please. To be honest I know on the surface this looks like too much money but if you come take a look at the car and the parts I have for it it's not a bad deal. Thanks,

Mike

The previous owner said that someone loosened his lug nuts (I'm thinking angry ex-girlfriend), the wheel came loose, and was sucked under the car pushing the fender all the way in. I know a body man that said he can pull it out for $100 and it's on my to-do list. I think that's how I got a hole in the top of my gas tank. When I go over speed bumps, etc. the tire occasionally rubs against the dented fender which may have pushed a hole into the filler neck or top of the tank. Edited by mcrisfield
