dmyers151
Yeah, that's what it is, a lot of SQer's remove it for space and it makes the engine bay much less busy. There is some potential for a GP on a SS braided ABS delete line at some point in the near future. So if your not in a hurry, I'd suggest waiting for that, it would make for a simpler and cleaner job. As far as removing it goes, use the search button. There should be a couple threads with step by step instructions with pictures on how to properly remove it. Indiana
There is some potential for a GP on a SS braided ABS delete line at some point in the near future. Not to burst your bubble but that piece of brake line sells for about $4.00 at any auto parts store that has a rack of brake line, its 30" long, 10mm threads and standard flare. If you have the ability to remove that abs modulator and unfasten all those clamps and untangle the wires and two brake lines then, here's where all are ignorant THE PROPORTIONING VALVE FOR A NON ABS CAR IS DIFFERENT, bleed the brakes afterwards imo only a complete idiot would waste one penny on some braided gay crap for that short piece of brake line. Did you replace all the rest of the hard lines with braided line? Do you realize that the life span of the liner inside that crap hose is only to be used for a couple years? Why do a few inches of it then? Spend your cash on something that matters and not fuel the china ricer crap seller. How about investing in some reading material? Indiana
does any one no which vacuum hoses can be eliminated and which cant without hurting driveability.NONE of them are hurting it now went they are all left stock. The EGR valve still working and the secondary air cleaner will all help your car have better economy. If you think there are allot of hoses under there that are useless instead of asking what you can throw in the trash wouldn't it make more sense to first read the factory service manual and know what you are trying to get rid of and what it does? As soon as you go to the extreme of removing all these so called unnecessary pieces under the hood you will quickly realize that if you later swap to mpi you will have more wires and hoses than the stock setup had so how will that get cleaned up? Removing a filter can that sucks the fumes out of your gas tank isn't going to help anything and that's about the only handful of hoses you can remove you still need some hoses. There is a hose to the wastegate you must have that goes to a barb that is in the intercooler piping, a hose to the distributor vacuum advance from the forward most port on the left side of the throttlebody of the three that appear to be in a row and the rest you can trash but you need to cap most all those on the engine you removed except for the thermo valve under the thermostat and the one on the egr valve. You need to keep the one on the lower port of the throttebody that runs along the firewall if you want your hvac vents to be able to operate. It was only a suggestion, and FYI the first thing I got after the purchase of my car was a FSM. I'm not telling him to go out and buy the braided line, and yes, its probably completely unnecessary, but might make the install a little easier and cleaner IMO. And as far as the "china ricer crap seller", you'd be refering to an established SQC member who has lines made specifically for us.
