87 etacs

I know some of the 87's had trouble with the Etacs. Was there a better number, or an upgrade from a recall? I've got an MB571381 that always worked for me. Got a fellow Quester with a dead one, MB510682. Both have G8C-07M on them. Will mine work for him?

I see the part number MB501682 for the 1987 (Conquest) model did not show up on the (Mitsubishi) parts microfiche,But Mitsu should have corrected the error in plenty of time before the 1989 microfiche was made.

I do have a resource for a September 1987 copy of the Chrysler parts catalog an MB501682 is listed as it is in the February 1989 copy that was/is accessible on line.

Hmmm starting to sound like a dealer prep problem.. I know Chrysler does not share all the same part numbers as Mitsubishi for the identical cars.

 

I had to post to this though I hate half information and wanted to get to the bottom of this information.

 

I've worked enough dealerships an service stations to know batteries can come "bad" from the factory. but.....

the change does seem to coincide with the other electrical corrections / modification that were made in 1987.
