Coke
I'm considering selling my 2001 Dodge Neon ES 5 Speed. It currently has ~142,000 miles and is my daily driver. I drive it everywhere. Since October 2010 when I bought it, I've put 10,000 miles on it without ANY problems. I've driven it home from Philadelphia, PA where I bought it, back to Buffalo, NY. About a month later, I drove it to Richmond, VA and back. This little car is special. This car was special ordered directly from the factory with R/T suspension, R/T steering, "hammerhead" spoiler, and "Silverstone" 16inch wheels. It was first owned by a Chrysler Corporate manager, as a company demo car, which explains a lot, why this car is sooo fully loaded. To sum it up, this is a Neon R/T, without the 150HP H.O. Magnum 2.0L SOHC 16v Engine and close ratio'ed 3.94 transmission. This car has the normal 132HP 2.0L SOHC 16v with the standard 3.55 ratio transmission for fuel economy. I have the cars option codes available, to provide proof of it's unique features. It also has "Export only" Wood grain trim on the doors, and bezel around the radio, which was only intended for Neons sold to Europe. It really gives the car an upscale look. It has leather seats, leather armrest (rare!), leather shift knob, and leather on the door panels. The seats are in great shape with no rips or drying out. They are very comfortable and supportive. These seats also have SRS Side Impact Airbags, giving the car a total of 4 air bags. This car is safe. Car has a sunroof, which works great, but does infact sometimes leaks when it rains. Could probably use a new outer seal. The 5 speed transmission shifts perfectly without any grinds. The car has 4 wheel disc brakes w/ ABS which works great. It is also equipped with Traction Control, Cruise Control, and heated mirrors! I was able to come in contact with the previous owner who traded it in, and he filled me in with service that's been done to the car. It has a new timing belt/water pump, engine mounts, and clutch at around 120,000 miles. Same goes for the struts. New from Dodge. It has an SRT-4 exhaust system, from the engine back. It sounds VERY good, but "could" stand to be a little quieter. I bought the car with a Bad PCM. I am currently running an R/T PCM in it which I am borrowing from my cousin, but I will need to return this to my cousin before the sale. I'll find a normal PCM and install it, before the sale. Cosmetically, there is damage to the front driver door, and front passenger door, by the previous owner. I have been keeping my eye open in junkyards to replace them, but haven't had any luck yet. The passenger rockerpanel has some damage too, from the same incident that damaged the door. The hood also has some damage, but you can't notice until you get up close to it. It looks like someone sat on it. The car mechanically needs tires and a wheel alignment. I may take care of this before the sale, since it is my daily driver, and it's getting to the point where I it needs to be done asap. The oil pressure sender leaks some oil. It's usually low 1 quart every thousand miles or so. This is a GREAT car, and all the BIG maintenance things have been performed already. I drive this thing everywhere, keeping the miles off my Crown Victoria (I've put 1,000 miles on my Crown Vic in the time I've put 10,000 miles on the Neon). I don't want to sell it, but I need to make some financial decisions which I may not be happy with, but it's what I gotta do. The Crown Vic will be for sale soon too. I would like $3000...but I am a little flexible. This would make a fantastic commuter car, or first car for that teen graduating High School in spring! Any questions...feel free to ask! Coke
Bump! Doors have been replaced with Canadian specific "CHRYSLER" Neon doors. The car's cosmetic damage is now only limited to the hood, and passenger side rocker panel. The car looks great! I hopefully will be going in for a wheel alignment next week! Pictures: Tar has been removed and doors have been claybarred since pictures were taken. http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/199317_10150154823161672_505891671_8024311_4810425_n.jpg http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/198994_10150154822821672_505891671_8024308_2398260_n.jpg Edited March 10, 2011 by Coke
