Sherman8r44
Hi folks! Bought my Conquest a little under a year ago. 110k miles, previous owner claims the following, some of which are substantiated by service records:- 1989 ECU- 17C turbo- Upgraded injectors (no details)- Stage 3 clutch Photos: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151578632386221.1073741827.585206220&type=1&l=24955b08fe I barely drive the car, as it's among 4 in my fleet. Not to mention the company cars which are my daily drivers. I'm mechanically mediocre, but it does have a couple of issues I want to address (among more minor stuff).Cold start idle is ~400rpm and rough. I have to give throttle to keep it from stalling out. Wam idle is 800-900 and fairly smooth. Temp sensor was replaced in 2008. The heater core hose cracked and overheated the engine early on in my ownership...I don't remember having idle problems before. Rear end clunk when shifting. Guessing its the U-joint?Anyhow, looking forward to more good times with the car, and a few repairs with aid of this very close-knit community. Cheers! creakyjoints
You may want to check the wiring for ISC idle speed control. When that hose was replace you might have created a problem with the wiring for it. I actually had one that was brand new that some how I managed to tear the wire off it metal tab under the rubber grommet. So check it out to make sure it is working correctly. Rear could be a U joint or the torque tube that goes between the driveshaft and pinion. They tend to fail and will get noisy.
