  1. coming to a roll'n stop @ a "Red" stoplight! Yep, that's right... heading to the house yesterday early evening... beautiful clear sun shinny day. Great weather, good breeze... sun was warming, cool breeze, just really nice day; UNTIL... I 1st w/ encounter this 2007' massive ford p/u a couple miles before: when he thought he would "try" to engage me from merge'n into his lane as mine was ending, by stomp'n on it to close me off. When that didn't pan out, he began follow'n on my rear end. (BTW: I wasn't be'n a tail, try'n to cut in front, pass, etc.) So I exchanged rear view mirror "get off my bumper" visual messages, which seemed to finally work. (little did I know? ) Once again, all seemed good on this beautiful day! Rural road (as far as the city area around here), well trafficed. Light was turning red up ahead, few cars ahead get'n caught, slowed in front of me; I took her out of gear to coast the rest of the way uphill to the line of few cars @ the light, just enjoy'n the breeze through the windows, maybe do'n 5-7 miles per hour, not even pay'n attention behind me when: BAMMMMMMMM! Hit me like "T-Man" Tom down @ Pigeon Forge ... Actually knocked my ash tray clean outta the dash! My forehead smacked the visor, I dunno why, but I reached for my neck immediately, as I went forward, then back into the head rest. Kinda dazed @ 1st, just sat in the car, for what seemed like a long time. Looked in the rear view, "Guess Who?" He wouldn't even get out of the truck to come see if I was alright? (I can only suspect... he may have been a bit concerned about my demeanor @ this point in time? ) Finally I got out, to ask him: Gee Sir, what might you have been think'n... smash'n into the back of me @ maybe 40 miles per hour, as I was break'n @ a slow coast? (foot on brake) His response: "I dunno." Had to get back into the car (my 89' DD of 18 yrs.) Felt a lil strange. Emergency vehicles got there, EMT comes fly'n into my passenger side w/ a neck brace in hand, throw'n my passenger seat forward, toss'n stuff to & fro inside the car, on my other side, no matter what I told the EMT's; ( bad headache, neck hurt @ base of skull) she (1) would radio: "lower back injury, neck, spine, head, trauma," I tried correct'n a few times then gave up. Gurney next to me, I said: "Please nice folks," could I have your attention?... I'm really not feeling like get'n strapped in, slapped down, rolled out, w/ my car left here for someone to play with! After refusing to transport, being lectured w/ her head all the way into my "cockpit," my auto belts being wrapped around all over the back of the car, to try & forcably remove me?... I was able to get them to "allow" an officer to speak to me. We negoiated my pull'n my car onto the right turn road of the stoplight, & he do'n the exchange of info. (Maryland is a "No-Fault" State , unless transported injured, or vehicle is not drivable) Speak'n of which... I gotta tellya... This accident, nearly took the entire front bumper section off of the huge truck, grill buckled in, while the rest hung on... & barely... any visable damage to the rear of my Quest! Now... I know... everything inside the bumper was destroyed, light panel busted a bit (however, Officer checked all my lights to drive / A O.K., even the brackets for the gas tank were shifted, my rear hatch does not match up on the spoiler any more. (hangs back a good 3/4"). But actually, look'n @ this huge truck, my lil ole Quest, it's pretty amaze'n. I spent the rest of the night in the ER (which as soon as I got home, went to the local hospital. Was diagnosed w/ a "Heart Murmer?" ... (never had heard about that prior?) & Cervical Sprain/Whiplash) Tried to give me a couple different muscle relaxers, which I shyed away from. Already on enough meds? Told the pretty younger thang that asked me to look into her eyes to check mine: (responded they're a pretty blue...) not what "she" was "look'n" for I think? Said: The limp residual affects of those muscle relaxers don't agree w/ me..., Or... was it her comment about have'n sensitive ears... (I "suppose" referring to hear'n my heart murmer?... & my response: "to the touch?" Nonetheless... I was released, & am missing work w/ some extra than normal pain; base of skull/back of head, upper neck, & my normal lower back. (which a couple days earlier, had just received my "spinal injections.") Today... it's the insurance call(s). As luck would have it, @ least it "was" insured, (a company vehicle) & the same insurance as mine? So they can battle it out amongst itself? SOOOO... how was your evening yesterday?
