Hi Fellow Starion Owners! I'm a new owner but not new to my Starion. It was my dad's since I was a one year old back in 1986 (yeah I'm dating my age). I've been wanting to restore the car for a long time and I'm finally getting to that point. It makes me happy to know there is such a large community out there with the love of the car I grew up with. There's nothing more comforting than warming up that 2.6 liter turbo on the way to the baby sitter. Anyway, I am longing to hear the whistle of that turbo again. I've a long way to go and I'm looking forward to documenting my progress here. My car is in pretty bad shape due to years and years of neglect. But it still runs. Great to be apart of this community!

Just bought an '88 ESI-R a few days ago from a good friend of mine for a very reasonable price, 76,000 miles, bone stock as far as I know. Minor rust damage on the sides just under the doors, and a few little things here and there but no major issues, and it's mechanically sound as can be. Only real issue that's been bugging me is I have been having issues with the fuse box not holding the blades tight enough and I keep losing the taillights headlights and dash lights, but a good solid wiggle wiggle fixes that for the moment, gonna fix it permanently very soon. Doing a tune-up soon, pretty basic stuff to start with. Gonna make it run nice, then look nice, then gonna start working on some performance modifications. Which brings me to my next point, I'd like a bit of advice on what I can do to get a bit more power out of the motor. I'm not doing any performance upgrades until it runs perfect of course, I have a solid understanding of basic maintenance and ownership, but as far as cars go, performance is mostly unknown to me. I'd like a little bit of advice on the best way to get maybe 250-300 HP out of the motor without having to do a massive rebuild, if possible. Nothing too wild, but enough to have a really fun car. Tips, and good sources of reading material would be greatly appreciated, as well as any common issues the car may have. Thanks!
