I am looking for synchronizer keys and springs for a 1987 5-speed transmission. Part number Md701897 and
Md701766. These can be found for super cheap online so mostly I am hoping someone just has them laying around and no longer needs them so I can save $4. I will pay shipping of course.
Email response to sandmaster29@gmail.com please.
Thanks!

I am looking for an old spoiler. As long as it isn't completely trashed, condition isn't a huge concern. I want to see if my brother and I can fabricate our own aftermarket spoiler for a Starquest project we are working on right now, and I want a spare spoiler to experiment with so I still have the original if anything goes wrong. I don't want a brand new one, or really even one that is in great shape as there is a good chance it will get ruined. Save the nice spoilers for actual use. I'm not wanting to pay anything over $100, so if you have a rear spoiler you'd let go for about that (plus shipping) please let me know.
-I love the duck bill spoiler as much as anybody, but I saw a pic of someone with an F40 style spoiler and I want one.
--Alternatively if you know of an F40 style spoiler that fits these nicely, please let me know.

According to the Rare Parts post in the Newbs forum a set of side Louvres will run you around $200. Mine came with them, that seems to be the best way to get them. Rear set as well.

The power windows wouldn't roll down when I first purchased the car 2 months ago, the previous owner was convinced it must be the relay and gave me a new one. Just installed the new relay last Saturday, still no success. Are there any common issues with the power windows in the'88 models I can look for? With the nice weather here I'd certainly like the luxury of an open window while I am cruising around.

Haha, no speakers. Motors and retractors can always be moved, it is the auto seat belt, but I really only need 2-3 more inches to be more comfortable... I am going to look at it tonight. The only thing i'd consider putting in place of the rear seat is maybe a small mattress for on the fly naptime...

That's what i thought, but sounds pretty awesome! That is definitely something I will be doing, no amps and subs though, just a nice upholstery job!

Welcome! Do something about that atrocious hood scoop. May I make a suggestion: http://www.ebay.com/itm/83-Turbo-Style-FRP-Hood-Starion-Conquest-85-86-87-88-89-/380299748354?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_100&vxp=mtr&hash=item588ba1a402

Does it look clean, or is there still an obvious hole where the seats use to be?? My older brother can do interiors really well, so I am not too concerned with the aftermath, mostly curious.

Welcome!

Well, I will be one of them.

I'd hold on to the original seat of course, just in case I ever sold it to someone who was opposed to comfort.

I've been pondering this since 5-minutes after I bought the machine, but since I have to have the seat all the way back on the rails, and reclined a bit (and at 6'3" I'm still crammed) I'm very much tempted to take out the back seat entirely and extend the rails for the front seats, both to save weight and increase my comfort. There's also a really annoying guy at work that always rides out for cigarette breaks with me and my coworker, this would prevent his presence from ruining my 4PM smoke. Anyone ever done this? Is it even worth the effort? I'd have enough trunk space to haul a horse around, which would be awesome, but I wouldn't want to do it unless I could get it out without being able to clean up the space where the seat would be. I wouldn't want it to look like some hillbilly just ripped it out one day, I'd want it to look as much like it was built that way originally as possible. Any ideas?

Very nice!

Also, what is the stock PSI from the turbo? My gauge reads at 9 PSI max. I know they are inaccurate but I am curious as to how inaccurate it is.

Lucky me! I have the full set of window louvres! The rear is not installed, the previous owner did not like how hard it was to see out the back window, I'm going to put them on and see how I feel though, the side louvres look awesome though. And it looks like my '88 has the 86-87 models seats! Haha!

Very nice!

I actually looked under the hood with my older brother, who is an engine master, and he very quickly noticed that I actually do have an aftermarket OVCP and HKS blowoff valve attached to it. It doesn't look like the most professional set-up, but it does work. I've also noticed I have a very small leak in my radiator.

Just bought an '88 ESI-R a few days ago from a good friend of mine for a very reasonable price, 76,000 miles, bone stock as far as I know. Minor rust damage on the sides just under the doors, and a few little things here and there but no major issues, and it's mechanically sound as can be. Only real issue that's been bugging me is I have been having issues with the fuse box not holding the blades tight enough and I keep losing the taillights headlights and dash lights, but a good solid wiggle wiggle fixes that for the moment, gonna fix it permanently very soon. Doing a tune-up soon, pretty basic stuff to start with. Gonna make it run nice, then look nice, then gonna start working on some performance modifications.
Which brings me to my next point, I'd like a bit of advice on what I can do to get a bit more power out of the motor. I'm not doing any performance upgrades until it runs perfect of course, I have a solid understanding of basic maintenance and ownership, but as far as cars go, performance is mostly unknown to me. I'd like a little bit of advice on the best way to get maybe 250-300 HP out of the motor without having to do a massive rebuild, if possible. Nothing too wild, but enough to have a really fun car. Tips, and good sources of reading material would be greatly appreciated, as well as any common issues the car may have.
Thanks!

Turns out that while they can be found online for super cheap nobody seems to actually have them. Inquired about them with several suppliers and they all said they were actually unable to get any to me. It's actually the first time I've had any issues getting parts from a supplier online so far though.
