  1. I'm not sure about a 160. Factory is 195, I put a 185 in mine and it stays cooler except on the highway. But I just figured out mine got to hot on highway because by timing was way off. Do you have your a/c still? If not ditch that condenser up from so the radiator can get more air flow. Those are my ideas
  2. Air filter is good, I do believe the injectors are good, timing is getting checked tomorrow. We used to do no emissions for vehicles older than 25 years but then they changed it to must be a 1975 or older so just missed that law change. God I hate emissions, doesn't help my shop doesn't have a 5 gas.. can't wait for my 4g64 swap so I can go crazy with the tuning
  3. Hey guys, my 88 starion has failed emissions twice now here in denver. I'm only failing in HC (hydro carbons) and by only half a point. everything else is falling in range with ease. any ideas on how to get the HC down? in the past i have disconnected the waste gate on my DSM so that it wouldn't boost and that seemed to work, but I'm not sure how the starion would react to that. and on another note my car runs great and stays cool when driving around town even on hot days but when i take it to emissions in the morning when the temp is only 55 the car gets hot.. think its just lack of airflow since they only use a fan to "simulate" driving.

     

    FYI- im not really modded, i put the stock IC pipe on for testing so i wouldn't vent the BOV i had on and I'm running a turbo back system with a single cat, i do not have the factory pre cat and running stock boost

  4. I know of people installing a boost gauge into the stock location, but what about other gauges like oil pressure or temp. I know the gauge cluster needs slight trimming to fit the boost gauge. What about the other? If anyone has done this can I please see pics? If not do you think it could be done without to much major trimming
  5. Oil is clean and the engine doesn't run hot.. Haven't done compression on it. I never have to add coolant to the car.. It shows the same thing my old talon did.. Which was guides. I don't think it's a head,it doesn't show enough symptoms. but I will run compression check and block check on it this week
  6. Ok so i have an 88 starion, factory motor, 1g dsm MAF, BOV, and Blaster 2 coil... When i start my car after she sits for a while (at least a few hours) its starts but idles pooly... as if its missing on a cylinder or two. and a giant puff of white smoke comes out the tail pipe. give it a few good revs or let it idle about a min or two and its smooths out... Im thinking its got leaky valve seals but wanted to ask to see if its something special with the cars or anyone has suggestions.. other than the start up it runs strong... any ideas or opinion are welcome. thanks in advance
  7. Lol... no way.. the paint is horrible!!! i wanna re-spray her back to the factory black. Get some new rims so they are no longer mismatched. and i put new suspension on it so it sits a bit higher now... to high actually lol. so gotta mod the spring perch to i can lower the coil overs more... oh and i gotta get the front air dam, mine is missing lol
