Me and My paint flaking car should be there this year again.
Wow, you're from Walters? My father owned the hardware store in Walters for about a year after WW II! I grew up in Albert Lea!
-
My favorite style too...a 2dr with removable top! But crap this is the kind of CL ad I -HATE-!! There should be a law that the moron should HAVE to sell it for $5 'cause he listed it that way!! >_<
-
Well the '88 Cordia sold for $870 with a flakey trans & replaced non-turbo engine. This has a clean, if wethered body, and from what I can see around the damn girls, it's pretty straight too. Pity the interior is so rotted but that's the southwest for you. I personally would prefer the later style front end but this would sure be a one of a kind hit at a mitsu meet!!
-
Yeah but 50 euro is about $63 at the current exchange rate so the German one is WAY cheaper, even with international shipping...
-
If we don't get together sometime this summer, lets all make it to the all Mitsu cookout in Rogers August 26th. If you're coming from South of the twin cities area you could meet up at my place in Eagan and we could convoy over. (I think that would be awesome, having a line of Starquests driving up I-94!)
-
Pffft... Was wondering the same thing. Couldn't afford to make it this year time wise, but was worried how the Branson tornado would affect the meet...
-
Count me in!! My wife & I went last year and had lots of fun! Besides Mitsu there were other interesting/exotic cars that showed up in the spectator parking. (My wife's favorite was a yellow Lotus Esprit!)
Anyway, we had about half a dozen Starquests last year. Lets make it even MORE this year!! I'll be glad to help anyone coming from out of state, just drop me a message.

Now THAT is what I'm talkin' about!!

i will tell you this, dont start storing stuff in the shop. it becomes a pit that consumes your space and one thing leads to this and then to that and before you know it, your working in one bay and all the rest of the room is full with crap
I can verify this - when we moved from our townhouse I was looking forward to using the oversized two car garage for...CARS! Unfortunately I figured I'd move everything then sort and sell or throw crap away over the next summer. Well, that was three years ago. My wife is still a bit annoyed at how the Conquest gets to be in the garage while our DD is in the driveway...

I've been keeping an eye out for one of these but a turbo model with a non-turbo engine, a salvage title and shady stuff included? Not so much...
-
STILL haven't gotten an XB360 but I was in GameStop last weekend. Damn, Forza4 must be more popular than God...a used copy is only $7 less than a new one!! And then there's the online fee. But I'm gonna get on!! Someday. Somehow...

and the guy who bought that one out of Florida re-listed it and dropped the price a couple of times before pulling it off the market. In a tough economy without much discretionary income it is tough because banks will not loan money on it except for a signature loan and 16 grand is a lot of money for an obscure 25 year old Japanese car especially when I see some come up from time to time for a grand or two. It makes it seem like OptimusPrime who took the white one from Cali got a steal of a deal. There are more of these cars out there than I ever thought, must have been popular for the time? try finding a super clean Nissan like a 240 or NX2k Sentra/ Altima SER or a Supercharged Frontier. Like a needle in a hay stack.
Actually any of the cars you mentioned are good practical daily drivers, the starquest not so much. Especially in the snowbelt where you generally have to put it away for the winter. I know that my car has less than 50k miles on it simply because the original owner loved it & refused to sell it but was actually intimidated by it and would go years without ever getting it out of storage. I can't help but think that may be the case with many of these cars with less than 50-60k miles on them...

What? Nobody suggesting bringing your parts car on a towbar???
When I went to Branson last summer (an 1100 mile round trip) I took extra fluids, wrench set, screwdriver set, duct tape and a carpet knife. (The last two 'cause I'm running the original radiator hoses which are in good shape but...)

i bought a boxtype lancer when i was in the philippines last year for 300 USD running 5 speed. white. low km.
Wow! We have a house in Cagayan D'Oro - sounds pretty cool, especially if it's a turbo model...

I don't think any quest will sell for 7500 personally.
There was an '87 Quest that sold in July 2010 for $16,000 but that was a statistical outlier - it had 10k miles and looked like it had just rolled out of the showroom...
-
Well, I wasn't going to reply to this thread for fear of being called not positve but I own an atlantic blue '87 Conquest with 48k miles. The main differences between this one and mine is that mine is perfectly stock, completely rust free, only has a few minor parking dings and everything works on it.
A person was very interested in buying my car at the national meet in Branson last year. I offered to sell it for $7500 and he counter offered $4500. I did not sell my car & he ended up finding a different car. The car he bought wasn't in as good condition and had nearly 100k miles on it but he got it for around $3k. The impression I took away from all this is that an atlantic blue '87 with 45-50k miles is probably not worth $7500, even if it's in perfect condition (which mine is not, I'll admit it).

please shut the doors
have never figure'd out why people never close doors or hoods on cars
^^^^^ - what he said!! Frustrates me to no end to go hiking through the yard looking for a particular car only to find that some dipstick left the door open & the piece I want is water damaged or rotten!!
-
I'm glad they won! Haven't followed the Cards for decades but it bought back fond memories of listening to them on KMOX radio with my grandpa on his old tube radio. Ah, good old Harry Caray...HOLY COW!!
-
Ooops, hm, sagging, flooding...Um, I'm bowing out of this convo. Being from the midwest I don't understand this California jive-speak!
-
I think I'd rather see that than some fool with his pants hanging down to his knees and his underwear showing.
Aw Burton, you beat me to it!!
-
Hmmmm..... I wonder if the side ways G's cause the oil to shlosh to the side of the pan.. Resulting in a dry area by the pickup tube... Ferraris and v12 Mercedes run multiple pickup tubes to prevent this dry spot under heavy G's..
Domestic engines are like that...I remember in high school discovering that you could make the oil light flicker in my father's Buick by taking right-hand curves really fast. It was fine on left hand curves though so I assumed the oil pickup tube was on one side of the pan, not in a low area.

I read the article 3 times and still only see where 2 cars were stolen, not 5.
It cuould be me, it's still early and I'm foggy-headed.
That's how I read it too...two trucks, two trailers, two cars...??
-
Jeez, I've managed to resist getting a 360 till now. Crap. Well, I know what I'm getting with my first paycheck when I find a job!!
-
he would be a good shamwow salesman
Pffft...I just LOLed for a couple of mins! Thanks for the laugh!!
