  1. I dont have mk plates but I made similar plates. Instead of an oval slot I put a flat edge on one side to use the flat on the strut. This locks the piston from spinning when you turn the nut to make adjustments. This will only work with coil-overs as the stock spings clock the flat at a different angle. I also bored out the spring hats so the fit over the piston similar to the Ground Control units. I also added a spacer so the spring hat would clear the studs on the camber plate.

  3. so today i took my car to a buddies garage so we could install the clutch master kit i got. the flywheel is a thing of beauty! and the clutch is a grabby little f'er.

so we check the u-joints, really rough. after taking them out i find that there was absolutely NO grease in them none! like they were cleaned and put it. all there was was rust dust.

we pull the trans and the pilot bearing is just like the u-joints, at this point im amazed there was never a sign of problems. i never had a vibration or anything, just a slipping clutch that stared a few weeks ago.

while i was under the car i notice one of the CV boot is torn, looks to have just happen recently, no dirt or deterioration. trying to get these were not an easy thing. first i wanted new axles, evidently that isn't something that's available. after some calling around i find ONE! outer CV boot, luckily that is the one that is torn. so now i have to order 3 others

another little jem i found while under my car was the steering box is leaking all over the place, this would probably explain why last week i started getting a grown form the pump.

and last but not least we installed some new brakes, they were fine but the inside of the driver side rear rotor was messed up pretty good. it seem as though the piston was stuck.

oh i almost forgot, the tube that goes form the turbo to the maf has a good size crack in it.

    so i need the:

    air intake tube

3 CV boots or new/rebuilt axles

power steering gear box and pump

tomorrow we tackle the throttle body and the torn CV boot. i sure hope i dont find any more little issues, i cant afford it!

but all in all the car drive a lot better, clutch is taking some getting used to. only stalled it like 6 times.

oh yeah, and i couldn't find any place local to get a vacuum advance. one more thing to add to the list.

if you guys have any lead on where i can find some of this stuff id appreciate it. i know rock auto has the vacuum advance and the CV boots but im at a loose on the rest.

  4. not sure if this is the right section, if it isnt im sorry. i want to buy some new injectors, i did a search but didnt find much. where can these be found, or can they. i foudn the injector connection had some but modification was required, i just want new ones that will drop in.
  5. Don't know where you are but wait until it gets really cold out. You ain't heard nothing yet. For whatever reason these PS pumps are prone to groaning. The only things you can really do: keep air from getting in, NEVER use power steering fluid (use ATF only), or rebuild it if nothing else works.

My old beater toyota never makes a sound and I pay no attention the the fluid level or condition. My conquest groaned the very first winter.

well the car is stock so i have no idea what the previous owner has put in it or had put in it.

it is not cold here but it will start getting colder. one of the great thing i love about this car is how quiet it is/was.

im getting ready to put a clutch, have the brakes gone through (possible abs delete), u-joints checked, throttle body rebuilt, vacumm advance replace, and a few other odds and ends, then this happens and it irritates me. seem like it is a never ending thing with cars. im currently parting out a mustang for this very reason, as well as the reason i wont mod this car. i want it looking good and reliable. that is it.

thanks for the info guys ill let my mechanic know and have him flush it and put in atf.

  6. im getting the power steering whine form my car, kind of like it is low on fluid but it is not. the pump nor the box leak so im confused as to what it could be. im assuming the whine would be made from teh pump. it only make the noise when i am moving very slowly and i turn the wheel, usually in parking lots.

    any help would be great.

  7. main reason i didnt sell it is because i noticed that the clutch is starting to slip and the through out bearing is making some noise. i could not sleep with my self if someone bought it and went to drive it a long distance and it failed them.

really dont want to sell it at all but time are tough, we shall see

  8. that guy can not speak publicly with out making himself look like an a**.

he is always pulling the race card, just like this.

you can see his insinuation is that, a white girl got the award and not a black girl.

just like the "george bush hates blacks" comment a few year back.
