2g or Evo mas / 3gen mas

Anybody running a 2g mas or evo 8/9 mas (also know as a 3g mas and found on other newer Mitsu cars)? This would require a afc and a good tune as the 2g maf runs 20 to 30% leaner than the 1g mas. And the evo mas 20 to 30 % leaner than the 2g mas I am aware that the maft is a proven option.

Installed the 2G 609 mas today. I cut 2" off the mas end of what i believe was a 89 Prelude AHP. The reducer from the oval mas to ahp is 4" x 3". I maxed out the HKS GCC (plus 16% fuel), plus what ever the HKS fcon chip is giving it, and it runs pretty darn good. HZ signal is still jagged but i haven't seen any of really huge hz swings or drop outs that have been plaguing me since i put the ported head on yet.

 

Hooked up my afc and headed out again but my Logger kept cutting out. :(

I had it to the track and it ran great. Kept blowing hoses off at 20 lbs :( . Yesterday i zero out the hks stuff and got it running off the re flashed neo afc i picked up. Only up to 15-16 lbs so far on the neo. I am really pleased so far. This set up has cured the pig rich drop in afr that plagues these cars when the turbo first spools.

 

My airflow logs are still choppier than they should be, but way better than the 1g mas. I suspect turbulence from the turbo thur the ahp.

 

Just a reminder. You need a wide band and some thing to tune with to run this. And the older neo's need to be sent back for a re flash to be used on these cars.

 

Winter is closing in and the track is closed now. I hope to try an 850 primary soon if the weather cooperates.
