Austin88ESiR
Hi all, My car is getting new paint and some of the old rubber gaskets are beginning to fail and/or are hard and brittle. Anyone have any suggestions as to how to get these clean and somewhat supple again. I tried looking for new one but it appears they are part of assemblies and not sold as individual pieces and getting some off of parts cars may yield the same weathered brittleness. T_sandman
There is a product called "rubber care" made by Wurth. I was given a can from a friend so don't ask me where to find it. It comes in an aerosol can. It is very good. Follow the instructions on the can.

I managed to scrape off the old overspray using a utility knife and it also got rid of oxidation. It looks better but still not very pliable. Whiplash
I use the "Bleech-White" stuff for cleaning everything rubber. It does a great job.
