This will be step by step of how to take off and replace your front air dam.I had the 3 piece style and replaced it with a 1 piece.

why i replaced mine?I hit a squirrel...yes a squirrel and busted the front passenger side.

First thing to do is take out the foglites and bezel. Not instructions on this because if you cannot take this off,do not attemp the rest

This will be a few hours of work using hand tools. You will need a 10 mm,11 mm and 14 mm sockets. Also a phillips screwdriver. And possibly a drill,i will cover this later on.

**You do not have to remove the header panle or the grille and corner lites.I did because it was easier to get to everything.**

Take out the grille and side marker lites. The grille has a screw on each end and about 4 tabs down the center.once the screws are out the grille justs pops out.

marker lites have one screw in each, drop out and take out the bulb assembly

Now,remove the 20 or so cover bolts. They will be about 10 up front and 10 on the back side.

Once out, remove the metal bumper support and the foam backing

support removed:

Now you can get to the 3 bolts on each side with the two mounting brackets. If you are lucky, they will not be rusted and can use again. You will also find a small corner bracket.

If you were lucky, you can reuse your mounting brackets.I wasn't lucky so these next few steps you will see the materials i found at my local hardware store for under $10.No way i was paying $100 for those off ebay.

here are my old brackets, one was so rusted it broke off:

I had to buy 8 of these mending plates because they didnt have enough long enough like the stock ones.I also bought 12 1/4 inch bolts, washers, lock washers and nuts. You will need them about 3/4 inches long ,but no longer than 1 inch, because the metal support will hit when putting it back on

The arrows show the factory holes i used and the circle shows the one i drilled. You can see in this pic the small corner bracket i reused.

in this pic is a better shot of the new bolts.Notice the other tab to the right. You can see the end. This one has two bolts in it to hold it.One uses the factory hole and i had to drill an extra one. So,you can see i used 4 new brackets on each side.

Once you have those all tightened up,it is time to put back in the foam and then the metal bumper support. If the bolts were old and rusty, buy new ones.

here is my old supprt, rusted beyong any hope.I lucked out and had a parts car here and used the support out of it.Also, you will see i have a red bumper now.I couldn't get the center section of my spoiler off my bumper.I am going to have my car painted so i used the bumper from the parts car.

Ok,it all goes back on like it came off.On the fenders, you will see these brackets.

http://www.2.6liter.com/userfiles/Drazz/airdam/fendermounta.jpg

Look inside the bumper and you will see a small tube like tab,it slides into the cutout on the fender bracket(circled in pic).As you slide this into place, the two mounts slide back into place. This will be easier if you go ahead and put the 2 back 14 mm bolts on.Don't tighten all the way so the mount will slide under it.

once in place, the sides will look like this:

Ok,now repeat the process.

1)Bolt down the 4 14 mm bolts.

2)Put the fogs back in.

3)header panel

4)put the side marker lites in

5)Put the grill back on

6)get under the fenders on each side and put on the 2 bolts

Excellent! maybe this should be moved to faq, I know it took me a few weeks to even realize there is this "restoration center"...or maybe something like a professor manual, if he doesn't mind using someone else's writeup and pics! nice work man
