Tim_Simpson
I have removed the standard Radio and Tape Player and am wanting to install a better on.... at the mo I have Alphine Head Unit JBL 6x9 Speakers Kicker 15" Sub Kicker Amp. When I go to install the head unit... it turns off... turns on... (between them is about 15-20seconds)?? This has totally baffled me? I have wired up a live feed direct from the battery and it still does it???? Some people have said to check the earth connectors in the engine bay.... I have got a clue where to start looking? any help much appreciated. Cheers, Tim
indy_85stariones
I used factory wires with no problems. Please read my previous post on wiring speakers for 84/85 starion. There are two power wires for aftermarket radios. The Yellow wire should go to constant 12V power. The Red wire should go to "switched" 12V power like the Accessory (ACC) circuit. It is possible that your Red wire has a loose connector. Regarding the ground, if I remember correctly there is a grounding screw on the vertical mount on the U.S. driver's side (UK passenger's side).
