unimatrix
I just got a rear hatch louver - it was a mess. I stripped it down to the bare aluminum and a friend of mine who has a compresser and sprayer said he will repaint it fo me. but I was wondering if I need to do anything else to it before it is painted. I'm useing rust-oleum painter's touch gloss black paint. Mike
Starquest_DJ
A coat of black primer might not be a bad idea as your initial coat, but it's not necessary. I didnt' even sand mine to the bare metal when I had it sprayed. But mine was basically faded with just a few bad spots. I basically smoothed it out and cleaned it off before painting.
