garret
hi, i am new to the forum and just picked up a 1989 conquest i think. I was attracted to the body style and always wanted one. It was at a autoshop and no one else liked it and not much was known about it,except the guy selling it said i guess the owner was having a kid and did not have time to finish it,and i guess he rebuilt the engine.Battery was dead but got it started next day and put in reverse and drive but would not kick into gear anymore. So i made offer he called next day and said it was mine.I took a gamble and bought it. My friend is checking it out for me,and noticed the piston clutch bolt to transmission is cracked. So i have a picture of it and wanted to know how to fix with out replacing whole trans. He told me no jb weld but i said yes. Or weld it in and redrill? or a bracket of some sort? Any help or suggestions? Edited July 1, 2013 by garret
