kippster31 Posted June 27, 2011 Report Share Posted June 27, 2011 Hi I've recently-ish got my quest running and drivable and am still sorting out lots of kinks, but to the problem. Whenever I get into over 3lbs of boost the damn things spews smoke terribly out the exhaust. Now obviously when and if I drive the thing I baby it and try to stay out of boost as much as I can. I know, no fun But could my seals in the turbo be bad? If so would it be probable to buy a cheap $200 ebay turbo to throw on for the summer? My dad can make an adapter pretty easily. 87TsiOwner Posted June 27, 2011 Report Share Posted June 27, 2011 you can rebuild the turbo for like $70 yourself, buy the rebuild kit on ebay. that's what i did, just make sure you have a detailed exploded view.
