  1. Sorry, forgot to mention it's located in Troutman N.C. (30 minutes north of Charlotte). Car has 5 speed manual trans and black on black color.
  2. My friend is selling his Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo. I can't remember if its 1991 or 92 but it only has 48,000 miles. I'm pretty sure he bought it new and it has been garage kept. It has a few blemishes that I have photos of but, overall, I would consider this car in excellent shape. It has had a tune up recently and runs like a rocket. It's bone stock and all original. He's asking $12,500 but I'm sure he'll listen to reasonable offers. I know it's not a Quest but I thought this group would appreciate it all the same.
  3. I have a couple of other pics but they are not much better than those. I need to get shots outside the shop (its small in there). These photos are about 1.5 years old but I haven't done anything with the car since. Its located 20 miles north of Charlotte, NC.
  4. Hey guys, it's time for the annual "for sale" post. 89 Quest, red w/ tan, auto, and 19,000 miles. It looks a little rough for the miles but I'll explain to anyone seriously interested who doesn't remember the story. I'd like to get $5,000 but will listen to serious offers (please be nice, lol). Check out the gallery for pics or I can e-mail a couple more pics. I have not seen the car in nearly a year because it stays at my dad's shop but he cranks it every few weeks. Someone here can make this a real showroom keeper.
  5. There used to be a member on here that refurbished the Starquest wheels (Mark I think). Is he still around? I would actually like to trade my 8s and 9s for refurbished stock or polished ones. I know it would cost, I just don't want to wait weeks to get wheels back on my car. Any ideas? Thanks
  6. Hey Notch, 1989 Quest Red with Tan interior. 19,000 actual miles. It may be out of your price range but I am negotiable. I'm in Mooresville (20 minutes north of Charlotte). Here's the link http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=78536
  7. I would be too........... Thanks anyway
  8. O.K. I've posted my car for sale here a couple of times in the past 3 or 4 years. I thought it was sold in late 2007 but the deal fell through. I've since got some bugs worked out of the car so I'll try it again. 89 Conquest - Automatic - Red w/ Tan & Black All options except Sunroof 19,000 Miles I'll give you the short story but feel free to pm me for specifics. I was told the car sat for over 12 years because of transmission problems (hard to believe with factory warranty). I do believe it sat still a long time due to the obviouse U.V. exsposure in certain areas only. The transmission was wacked but I had it rebuilt. I pulled the engine out and rebuilt it for a couple of reasons. (1) the frame rails had a little rust on them. Specifically the drivers side where dripping power steering fluid ate the paint off. Therefore I had to remove the engine to repair it. (2) The head gasket was leaking and I assumed others might that I could not see. (3) My dad owns a machine shop that refurbishes engine parts (blocks, heads, crankshafts, etc...) therefore it was free to me. The car is now reassembled and running fine (after nearly five years of nickle and diming it). The Pictures should tell most of the story. They are nearly a year old but nothing looks different. Other than some door dings, the body is great (No Rust) and the front spoiler is cracked. Paint is ok but bumpers, spoiler, mirrors are badly faded. Interior is great except for drivers floor mat (carpet is great) and stitching on front seats (leather is great). The wheels (8s and 9s) have some curb damage and it needs tires. Its bone stock. Its 20 minutes outside Charlotte N.C. I'm looking for $5500. Some minor details and a paint job will make this car a 10.
  9. Hey Guys, I'm working out some bugs on the quest after sitting for a few years. So far so good but I've got a hard vibration under the pass side floor board. I assume this is the exhaust but nothing feels loose on it. It only vibrates during accelleration but only certain times. Seems to be more intense turning right and not as much turning left. I'm stumped. Thanks for any help. AP
  10. Thanks for the help on posting, Boosted 88
  11. Good News Guys, I got pics. Is there anyone interested inhelping me post them before I e-mail them to everyone interested? Any help appreciated. Thanks
  12. Thanks for the replies. I hope to get some current pics later today or Sunday. I don't know how to post pics so I will email to whomever wants them. Mainstream, I'm sorry trades are not possible, I don't have time for any toys right now. Jayton, I rebuilt the engine for a couple of reasons. The car had sat for several years before the previous owner bought it. A leaky valve cover gasket had oil and grime all over everything. So I knew I would have to take a lot of parts off to clean the engine up. There was a spot on the driver's side frame rail that something like steering fluid had eaten the paint off and rust was starting to set in. That's when I reallized, to do it right, I had to take the engine out. My dad owns a machine shop where he reconditions engine parts so having him rebuild the engine only cost me a bebuild kit. He did agree that the engine had little to no wear when he tore it down. So while it was out of the car, I tried to recondition or replace the crusty parts before reassembly. I took the front suspention apart just to repaint it and replace the strut boots. Keep in mind, the original plan was to restore the entire car (within reason). I'm ashamed to say the last days I worked on it, I was just wanting it back together. I have a couple of photos (non digital) of the empty engine bay that show the rust repair. I will need to scan them but that may take a couple of days. The trasmission was the reason it sat for so long. The car drove but it had a "bandaid" on the problem. My dad had the tranny rebuilt and they discovered and fixed the problem. Please keep in mind, I will give you more info on the car than you want to here but I'm not representing myself as a "Car Guy". I just love these cars and wanted to relive the days when I had one nearly 20 years ago. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks.
  13. Hey guys, long time no log-on. I've decided to give up the dream of restoring my 89 quest. The car is located in Mooresville N.C. (20 miles north of Charlotte). It's red with tan/black interior, auto, and 19,000 miles. Yes, 19,000 miles. Some of you may remember I bought the car off of e-bay about 4 or 5 years ago. I have rebuilt the engine (stock) and the transmission since then and disassembled the front suspention just for repainting. The car runs but the last time I worked on the car I was still trying to work out some bugs. It's an SHP with 8s and 9s. The doors have a couple of dings the size of a fifty cent coins worst case. Otherwise, the body is excellent. The paint is somewhat faded (typical red). The car is originally from the Louisianna area. I bought it out of Miss. Stitching on seat shoulders have dry rot and are seperating, otherwise the leather is excellent (little to no cracks). Other than a couple of over exposed parts (i.e. rear view mirror and stering column cover), the interior is near mint conditon. This car needs someone who knows about them. This will make an excellent original restoration. I'm sure it will make a great tuner hot rod as well but I had hoped to keep it original. As long as you're paying for it, do what you will. I'm asking $3500, much less than I have in it but it's a labor of love, right? Please E-mail me with specific questions. I'll get pics If the overwhelming response isn't too bad. Feel free to call me crazy if I am.
