  1. i put all new msd ignition and have a strong spark and it ran the exact same. its a 84. also checked for boost leaks. and the only code it has is the speed sensor code. 8
  2. Cars running rich and misfiring when i go wot. If i rev it a few times and clear it out it will run fine till the end of 3rd, or if i ease into it and then go wot it runs fine. It has a new fuel pump, filters, lines, coil, dist. cap, rotor button, wires, plugs (bpr7es) .032 gap. plug are black. no codes except speed sensor. no o2 sensor code but the sensor is dented in from the cat being beat out.It doesnt do it but a little at stock boost but the more i turn it up the worst it gets
  3. Hey guys i need a little help. I have a 84 starion drivetrain in my triumph spitfire. 13000 miles original on motor, just had a tune up and runs perfect on stock boost. It has an intercooler and water/meth injection and boost controller with autometer boost gauge. When i hit around 11-12 psi it pops and sputters and i have to go to the next gear. A while back when i changed the air filter the o ring around the top of the maf broke, i never put one back on it and assumed the car was sucking unmetered air and thats what the problem was, so today i went and got a new oring and it got worse almost like the car is not getting enough air. since it is in a triumph they could not mount the air box at an angle like in the starion, they had to mount it straight up and down and it put a pretty bad crimp in the factory rubber air intake pipe. just wondering if that could be the problem and i wanted to see if anyone had any ideas of how to fix the problem http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j371/jrcolavito/100_0618.jpg
  4. my motor is actually a 84 non intercooled that has a aftermarket intercooler but the way its piped is not how you would do it on a starion, this is the only turbo car i have had besides my TT Stealth. so im try to figure out where and how i should put a bov on it and also i want to change out turbos but the i.c. starion turbo outlets point down, can i just turn the housing of the new turbo to where i need it. http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j371/jrcolavito/100_0617.jpg http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j371/jrcolavito/100_0616.jpg http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j371/jrcolavito/100_0615.jpg
  5. yeah i actually tow cars and scrap a lot of stuff so i knew about selling the cats, and my car is a 1974 triumph with starion drivetrain so it only has the first cat at the turbo anyway the rest is straight piped. The second pic doesnt have the intercooler piping on it.. http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j371/jrcolavito/100_0609.jpg http://i1082.photobucket.com/albums/j371/jrcolavito/100_0611.jpg
  6. I thought about beating everything out of the cat until i get a down pipe. any thoughts?
  7. Hey everyone I am new to the forum and i have a mitsubishi starion drivetrain and suspension sitting on a hand built chassis with a wide body triumph spitfire sitting on it, so its pretty much a starion with a different look . The car weighs 1800 pounds and the motor is bone stock, even has cats on it. the donor car was totalled with 6000 miles on it and the starion gauge cluster was used in the triumph and now has 12,000 miles on it Im thinking i probably have one of the lowest mile starion motors around because my car was built in the 80s and never got drove much after it was finished. Every thing i read says to get a starion running good before doing performance and mine runs perfect and im hoping to get some of you guys to help me with some ideas of what to do to it first. the car is a wide body that has been tubbed out. I said it was stock but its and 84 motor thats been intercooled and has water/meth injection besides that it is stock. I have 250 pics of the car being built if anyone wants to see how something was done just pm me http://i1082.photobu...to/100_0611.jpg http://i1082.photobu...to/100_0610.jpg http://i1082.photobu...to/100_0609.jpg
